Meet Fitzburgh/McGuire
About Richard Fitzburgh
Prior to becoming a Managing Director, Richard was a Managing Director at RBC Wealth Management. Richard has been honored by numerous publications as one of the top wealth managers in the industry. During his time at RBC, Richard was recognized as Financial Times "Top 400 Financial Advisors" in 2016 and 2017, Forbes "Best in State Wealth Advisors" in 2019, 2020 and 2021, and Who's Who Worldwide in 2002 and 2003. When coming to Morgan Stanley, Richard and his team brought a combined 45+ years of Financial Advising experience. It is this experience that allows the Fitzburgh McGuire Group to work closely with their clients to provide a holistic financial planning process. Richard also works with a broad range of trust and estate attorneys in order to generate comprehensive estate planning strategies.
Richard takes a full-service approach with his clients. This includes assisting them with insurance needs, lending solutions, asset-protection trusts and sophisticated tax strategies as part of their overall wealth planning. The team also places an emphasis on servicing clients in professional money management arena. Richard works extensively with corporations as well—building 401(k) plans, ESOPs, developing pension and profit-sharing options and defined benefit plans. He regularly collaborates with Morgan Stanley’s top investment bankers on client strategies.
Over time, Richard developed a series of events that help distinguish his practice from others. These include an annual investment conference solely for his clients featuring well-known economic professionals with valuable perspectives on global topics. Other events focus on art and culture, notably the tremendously successful Art Basel Miami art fair, which connects clients with interest in the arts to internationally renowned artists—providing three days of insider experiences at this venue.
Outside of work, he is an active member of the community and an advocate for gender equality, founding "The Foundation For Gender Equality" as well as sitting on the United Nations Conference "A Call to Action for Gender Equality" in 2016.
