Welcome

MY COMMITMENT TO YOU

I strive to distinguish myself by the questions I ask and the relationships I nurture rather than by the products I recommend. As your experienced Financial Advisor, I help you build financial freedom, maintain that wealth, and depending on your wishes, pass it to your heirs, or philanthropic endeavors. To enhance your experience, I draw upon Morgan Stanley’s resources.

MY PHILOSOPHY

The first guideline of financial advice is not about stocks, bonds, mutual funds, insurance products or markets.

Such knowledge is essential, but it’s secondary to knowing my client. My role as your advisor is to ensure all areas of your financial goals and objectives are addressed and continually reviewed. Further, I will help you navigate through virtually all the financial information that you may be bombarded with to determine what is valuable and what is not. I seek to provide proper asset allocation with quality strategic moves to potentially take advantage of current market conditions.

My practice is founded on trust and integrity and focused on helping you achieve your long-term financial goals.

WELCOMING NEW CLIENTS

Whether you have been thinking about seeking advice or would like a second opinion, I would be happy to schedule time to introduce myself and talk about what’s important to you. Please reach out to me if you’d like to start a conversation, there is no cost or obligation.

Working With You

There are many decisions that need to be made over the course of your lifetime.
    Icon Image
    The WHY
I work with my clients striving to educate, to remind, to keep organized and to simplify their financial life. It can be stressful to learn about Social Security, Medicare, and tax law changes if you are on your own. It’s time consuming to coordinate with your accountant, your attorney, and a financial advisor. My passion is to be my clients’ quarterback; running the plays and changing on the fly as needed.

Discuss and Identify What You Want to Accomplish with Your Money
We start the process by creating a plan to help meet your goals. We analyze current and future cash flow and coordinate various income sources. I act as a personal assistant by maintaining financial notes and notifying you of action to be taken on time-sensitive matters.
    Icon Image
    Risk Management
An important step in working with you is Identifying your risk tolerance. We have tools for deep dive analysis to assess portfolio investment risk for current and prospective clients. We continually monitor and modify as appropriate due to how important it is to help preserve assets in market downturns in an effort to meet financial goals. Insurance is an important element of risk management which is why I have completed our firms Insurance Accreditation Program and hold the Insurance Planning Director designation thereby well versed in Life insurance, Long Term Care insurance as well as Disability Income, and Captive Insurance for business owners.

    Investment Management
My focus is spending time with my clients to be sure they know the “why” of the investments they own and the “how” these investments are monitored and changed to potentially take advantage of opportunities given the current economic and market conditions. Quarterly performance and financial planning meetings is how we track our progress to goals.
    Icon Image
    The Extra Mile
In addition to your financial picture, I also help with:
    • Facilitating intergenerational communications; mediate family planning meetings
    • Helping instill your vision and philosophy in your children
    • Offering financial guidance to your children, parents, and others closest to you
    • Providing guidance on external financial assets, e.g., 401(k)s, deferred compensation and employee stock ownership plans, assets and liabilities, etc.
    • Evaluating financial aspects of job offers
    • Acting as sounding board for any issue or concern

Areas of Focus

There are many aspects to a holistic wealth management plan. Below are common areas of focus for my clients. If you have questions about these or other topics, please reach out to start a conversation.
    Icon Image
    Divorce
Relationship transitions are overwhelming. Dealing with the impact of divorce needs emotional and financial support. I provide both for my clients by putting together a plan to be nice, take control, to make it work, and to have a long view.
    Icon Image
    Philanthropy
Many people want to give back to organizations that are important to them. There are several things to consider when thinking about giving back. Clients often want guidance in considering charitable gifts of Non-Cash Assets. And for business owners, gifts of closely held businesses. This short video highlights how you can approach giving.
    Icon Image
    Estate Planning Strategies
Estate planning can be unsettling. Whether you have been named executor or you want to select and prepare YOUR executor, I work with my clients to be organized and prepared in advance while considering tax implications. Wouldn’t you want a systematic approach to address concerns about estate administration strategies to help ensure your family’s security?
    Icon Image
    Retirement and Financial Planning
It has been said that money doesn’t buy Happiness. My personal addition….But it sure buys choices!!
For those who WANT choices, give me a call, or send me an email. Let’s make sure that you and yours have all the choices you could ever want. Take it from me, a person given love + tools, not given money, earning a regular person’s income……Ordinary people can build extraordinary wealth!

Events

Below are the types of events I organize so that my clients can invite those they care about to join us. But more importantly, I offer events for the group learning aspects. In a group setting we get to hear others’ questions as well as relate to each other. During Quarterly Review meetings, my clients receive new topic exposure, however, some topics require the deep dive coursework! I host an event 3 or 4 times a year. Email me if you’d like to be on the invitation distribution list.
    Financial Planning for Women
Women tend to live longer, work for less income, take time out of work force to raise children. Talk about a need for a financial plan! Woman also share in a group setting more often than men share so a Retirement Planning 101 + Estate Planning 101 is an ideal group discussion.
The Art & Science of Investing
During this session we hear from the stock pickers themselves. What proprietary tools do they use to determine where our money should be invested? How does Morgan Stanley monitor on top of their own work? What is the current strategy given global economy and politics?
Living Longer, yet Not Outliving your Money
We work hard, save diligently and we get there! We enter the Go-Go Years (think Bucket List!), then we enter the Slow-Go Years (think, we do 1 big thing a day), then we enter the No-Go Years. What?! We didn’t plan for that. A fall, a diagnosis, or some nosey kid of ours tells us we can’t live alone anymore. How do we make a dignified, self-selected, paid for plan? This seminar is how, before the adult children start asking questions.
    Estate Planning Strategies
Settling your estate can be unsettling. In this session we discussed strategies for helping simplify the confusing and complicated role of the Executor.
    Speaking Engagement
I would be happy to speak to your group or organization if you give me advanced notice. This list is only small sample, for example Junior Achievement, PTA, or in the Junior High or High School audience great!

2Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
