The Dawson Group, founded by Alan Dawson, is led by Alan and his two sons, Ben and Sam. As a father-son team, we seek to form multi-generational relationships with our clients and help build long-lasting family legacies. With a combined 40 years of experience in financial services, financial planning, accounting, and lending, we have been serving clients from our base in Sugar Land, TX, since 2006 - and officially expanded our presence to the Woodlands, TX in 2025.

We offer comprehensive guidance to clients throughout Texas and across the United States, addressing all aspects of their financial lives. Our approach is both collaborative and personal, providing advice grounded in customized strategies tailored to meet your unique circumstances, objectives, and timeline. Meet Dawson Group

About Alan McGuire Dawson

Alan entered the wealth management industry in 1993, and has been at Morgan Stanley since 2010. He and the Dawson Group currently manage over $500 million in client assets, as of December 2025. Alan has the CFP designation, and Ben is a licensed CPA (non-practicing). Utilizing a planning based approach, the team helps clients meet their long-term financial goals, by addressing many aspects of their financial life.

Alan has a finance degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising, golfing, traveling with his wife, Karen and hanging out with his kids and grandkids.

Alan and Karen have been married for 35 years and reside in Sugar Land, TX.

About Ben Dawson

Ben joined Morgan Stanley in 2020 and works alongside his father, Alan Dawson. As a wealth management team in the Sugar Land area, Ben is a licensed CPA (non-practicing at Morgan Stanley) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®. His team's varied professional experience and designations provide a wide knowledge base and skill set. They are committed to providing long-term investment planning to multiple generations of clients.

Ben received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from Baylor University. Upon graduation, he started his career at PwC in Houston, TX with a focus in the energy sector. He also worked in corporate finance for a Fortune 500 company specializing in commercial negotiations and financial planning.

As a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley, Ben utilizes his accounting and financial planning background to serve families and help them meet their financial goals. Morgan Stanley honored Ben in their “Pacesetters Club” in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys travel, watching movies, playing sports and being with his family. He lives in Sugar Land, TX with his wife, Brenna, and triplet 2nd graders (one boy and two girls).

About Shruti Sheth

Shruti provides executive-level support with precision and effectiveness as a Senior Registered Client Service Associate. Serving as a key client liaison, she is often the initial point of contact for a variety of services relating to account management.

Shruti is responsible for helping clients fully understand the robust suite of services, products and tools that Morgan Stanley has to offer. These include Total Wealth, Digital Vault, Financial planning and Morgan Stanley Reserved Living & Giving. Shruti combines her extensive operational knowledge with her excellent relationship management skills to identify solutions that deepen client relationships and help ensure a premium experience.

Shruti has been in finance industry for more than 12 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance from Mumbai University.

Shruti also holds her FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, 66 and Group 1 life licenses.

Prior to Morgan Stanley, she has served as a Private Client Banker at JP Morgan Chase Bank where she was responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of clients, providing them with personalized financial advice and tailored solutions that meet their unique banking, investment and wealth management needs.

Shruti and her husband, Sid, have two children, Kiana and Riaan. During her leisure time, Shruti enjoys biking, classical Indian dance, cooking, and spending quality time with her children.
She annually donates her time to Sewa International organization. Sewa International’s mission is to serve humanity in distress, aid local communities, run developmental projects.
