Million Meal Movement – Co Founder

In 2007, Dan and Nancy Hintz began Million Meal Movement with a two-fold vision: feeding the hungry and teaching the importance of volunteerism. As Million Meal Movement has grown, they have carried out this vision by empowering volunteers of all ages to make a tangible impact together.

Since its inception, volunteers have packed tens of millions of meals for families across Indiana. To date, more than 36 million meals have been packed to feed families across the state.

The organization collaborates with schools, businesses, churches, and civic groups to host meal-pack events throughout Indiana. Over the years, such partnerships have become a cornerstone of their community outreach and impact. Their signature event, the Million Meal Marathon, will celebrate its 15th annual occurrence February 2026, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis.
