Welcome

My path to becoming a Financial Advisor is not as straightforward as others, but my experiences along the way have helped to shape my current practice. I began my career as a Speech Language Pathologist in the medical setting where listening and communicating effectively with adult patients were essential. I honed these skills and transitioned into working as a consultant for healthcare organizations on the mainland. This work experience allowed me to gain an understanding of the complexity of organizations, develop business acumen, and advise companies on matters both large and small in improving their bottom line.

Equally impactful, my longstanding roots in Hawaii and family values have shaped my career and service to the Maui community. I was born and raised in Hilo on the Big Island, where my family has lived for several generations. Since starting my career as a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley in 2005, my wealth management practice has been inspired by the Hawaiian word kūpono, “to be upright, honest and fair,” with clients and business associates.

In my role as Financial Advisor, I see myself as a sounding board to my clients, leveraging my experience as both a listener and an advisor. I am committed to guiding client decisions based on their values and what is most important to them. My process focuses first and foremost on planning. I help my clients to establish a plan for their financial future and whatever might occur along the way. Ultimately, I hope to support my clients in their pursuit of a fulfilling life, whether it be educating the next generation, engaging with the community, taking up hobbies, or checking off their bucket list.

I am member of The Association of Professional Investment Consultants (APIC). APIC is the organization where focused advisors connect, collaborate, and generously share best practices in order to help enhance the service delivered to their clients and grow their businesses. APIC is a group of highly qualified professionals, with diverse practices, personally and professionally committed to a process of continuous learning and professional growth. We share a strong commitment to our profession, our clients — and our colleagues.

Beginning January 2025, I am excited to announce that I have merged my practice with The Conscious Wealth Management Group based in Honolulu, Hawaii. After careful consideration, the merger represents an ongoing commitment to putting my clients first, and I believe this transition will help enhance the support, resources, and experience available to my client relationships. I am eager to introduce the members of the team and I encourage to read more about The Conscious Wealth Management Group below.

Outside of work, I have been an advocate for underserved women and children through volunteer work and financial support. Going forward, I am passionate about island workforce development diversification and hope to enhance the education and resources for island students. I have called Maui home since 2002, where I raised my daughter, who is now a medical student, with my husband, Lee, a physician. I enjoy scenic hiking, experimenting with plant-based recipes, and travel to learn in-depth about the culture and history of countries around the world.

Born and raised on Maui, I knew I wanted to experience life off the islands, so after I graduated high school I moved to Colorado. There I received my Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Sports Management and Marketing. I began my career in sports working for the Colorado Rockies and Denver Nuggets before becoming a full-time Nike employee. There I was able to develop my business relationship skills as well as well hone my customer service abilities; I knew I wanted to be in the business of helping people.

I ended up moving back home in 2017 and went to work with Claire. To me, there is no better way to help people than to help people reach their financial goals. I work my hardest every day to help clients receive a great customer service experience, especially in this new digital world we live in. While not working, I enjoy watching sports, playing a round of golf, and hanging out with family and friends.

5Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
