Meet Core Purpose Wealth Management

About Kyle Chudom

Kyle Chudom
Managing Director, Wealth Management
Investing with Impact Director
Senior Portfolio Management Director

Throughout my career, I have maintained a steadfast commitment to innovative ideas, products and financial solutions on behalf of a select group of individuals, families and businesses. I define success as witnessing clients enjoy the things in life that bring them joy, meaning and purpose.

As the founding member of Core Purpose Wealth Management, I support the team with leadership, mentorship and vision. Early in my career, I understood the benefits of a team approach and pioneered one of the first financial advisor teams at Morgan Stanley. I am proud of the 16 individuals who comprise our team. We leverage our diverse talents and help our clients successfully navigate the complexity of each individual and unique financial scenario.

As the visionary of the team, I am passionate about leading our conscious/impact investing efforts as well as our Investment Policy Committee. One of our most important responsibilities is developing investment strategies for our clients that are suitable for their distinct and specific needs. We support a strategic and broadly diversified investment approach, as well as ongoing disciplined management of our client’s portfolios.

I believe every dollar invested has the potential to cause a positive impact. As an Investing with Impact Director, I focus on the client’s personal values and build investment strategies with the goal of contributing to their ideal vision of the world. I was an early adapter of incorporating Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) into portfolios. This catalyst lead me to the concept, and ultimately, the creation of an ETF that invests solely in conscious companies.

My career at Morgan Stanley began in 1984 after graduating from Alma College in Michigan. I subsequently completed advanced studies at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. I am a long-standing member of Morgan Stanley’s Chairman’s Club, which recognizes the firm’s leading financial advisors. Our team focuses on excellence and innovation. We are honored that several publications including Forbes, Barron’s, Chicago Magazine and Research Magazine have recognized us as leaders in the financial services industry.

My interests outside of work include spending time with family, hiking/exploring with Karma (my loyal Golden Retriever), practicing yoga, playing tennis and enjoying almost any activity that includes water.

About Eric Hayes

Eric Hayes
Executive Director, Wealth Management
Financial Advisor
Senior Portfolio Management Director
Family Wealth Advisor
Workplace Advisor - Equity Compensation

As an Executive Director with Core Purpose Wealth Management, I am passionate about creating lasting value for clients. Helping clients articulate their goals, build holistic custom financial plans, and navigate the fluctuations of the financial markets and life’s circumstances has been my mission for more than two decades. Financial literacy is one of my cornerstone passions. I take advantage of every conversation to help our clients strengthen their knowledge and understanding of their personal finances and the markets.

Growing my own knowledge is equally important to me. I earned advanced credentials and designations and received national and regional recognition. I am a member of Morgan Stanley’s Masters Club, which recognizes a select group of top performing financial advisors. Along with my team, I have been named to Research Magazine’s, “ETF Advisor Hall of Fame” and am featured in the book, “Winning with ETF Strategies”, by author Max Isaacman. In 2021, Forbes Magazine and SHOOK Research named me to their “Best-in-State Wealth Advisors in 2021”.

Within our team, I focus on developing and building strong client relationships, contributing to investment policy decisions and managing our 16-member team. As a Senior Portfolio Management Director and a member of the Core Purpose Wealth Management Investment Policy Committee, I collaborate on the design and ongoing review of the various investment models we employ - always with the goal of meeting our client’s unique objectives.

Conscious Investing and Impact Investing are also strong interests of mine. I believe that every dollar invested can make a positive impact. I enjoy creating investment strategies that allow clients to focus on their individual beliefs and invest in ways that can contribute to their personal vision of an ideal world.

In 2017, I completed an accredited program that focuses on the skills needed to help families communicate about money and values, share their goals, and grow and protect wealth across generations. This resulted in me earning the designation of Family Wealth Advisor. In 2019, I added Workplace Advisor - Equity Compensation to my list of credentials, focusing on my deep understanding of how to transform Equity Compensation and Executive Benefits into comprehensive, goals-based wealth management solutions.

Raised in the Chicago suburbs, I became interested in the financial markets as a teenager. Reading the annual reports of the telephone companies where my father worked sparked my interest in personal finance and the markets and my passion grew from there. I entered the Financial Services Industry in 1996 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree and joined Morgan Stanley in 2000.

In my free time, my wife, Jennifer, daughter Emma, and I pursue our shared and individual passions. Jennifer is a talented teacher, musician and amazing Mom to Emma. Emma is a skilled equestrian. I have been piloting airplanes since I obtained my license during my teenage years and have been working on building an airplane. I served for many years as a board member of the Illinois Aviation Museum at Bolingbrook. As a family, we are avid outdoors people, taking every opportunity to camp, and travel to wilderness destinations for adventures.

About Ryan M. DeProsperis

Ryan M. DeProsperis, Senior Vice President, CRPS®
Senior Portfolio Management Director
Financial Planning Specialist
Workplace Advisor – Equity Compensation
Financial Advisor

I craft custom financial solutions for our clients that address the challenges and circumstances that are unique to their special situation. I am actively engaged in the team’s Investment Policy Committee. Working together, we collaboratively make strategic investment decisions affecting our clients’ portfolios. I also focus on building new client relationships for the team, enhancing existing relationships and working with small businesses on developing customized retirement plans.

In 2019, I earned the designation of Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®), after successfully completing a graduate-level course in creating, implementing, and maintaining organizational retirement plans. I apply this knowledge to our work with small businesses, sole practitioners, and B-Corporations to determine which plans are best for both employees and the business and structure unique plans for each specific business.

I have always been interested in finance and economics. Early on, my parents gifted me with twenty shares of a public company, and I remember reading through the annual reports that my dad brought home. I was fortunate to have joined Kyle Chudom as a high school intern in 1995 and remained with the team as I pursued my finance degree at DePaul University, becoming a Financial Advisor with the team after graduating in 2002.

Outside of work, I am involved in several of my children’s activities and enjoy being active, roasting coffee, brewing the occasional beer, and traveling with my family. My wife, Kate and I reside in the western suburbs of Chicago with our two boys, Benjamin, and Joshua.

About Mary C. McGovern

Mary McGovern, CFP®, QPFC®
Associate Vice President, Wealth Management
Financial Advisor
Financial Planning Specialist

I help people achieve their dreams. As a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and Financial Advisor, I look at the big picture of your financial situation and work with you to build a pathway to achieve your goals. Through our holistic approach, we implement smart, thoughtful solutions that meet your unique objectives.

As a Financial Planning Specialist and one of three CFP®s with Core Purpose Wealth Management, I oversee our team’s financial planning efforts to ensure that every client has a strong, comprehensive plan that considers the entirety of their life. You can expect me to take a collaborative, transparent, and holistic approach to every issue we tackle. I will help you strike a balance between risk and reward, between short-term requirements and long-term needs, between family obligations, business needs, and personal goals and dreams.

I enjoy applying my knowledge and experience as an equity analyst in assisting the team research and select investments for our client’s portfolios. Helping you achieve your financial dreams is a second career for me. After graduating from Eastern Illinois University with a BS degree in business administration, I joined Northern Trust Company where I spent most of my tenure in the Investment Research Department. In 1997, I earned an MBA from DePaul University’s Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and was promoted to the position of senior equity research analyst. In this role, I was responsible for rendering investment opinions to outside clients and a network of over 150 portfolio managers on companies in the telecommunications services, chemical and heavy machinery industries.

After nearly a decade at Northern Trust, I left the workforce to raise four children. Fast-forward another decade to 2012, when I re-entered the workforce as a Wealth Advisor Associate with Morgan Stanley. In 2013, I passed the CFP® exam and joined the team. As a working mother, I understand the push-pull balance of life and the decisions that many women have to navigate. Achieving financial equilibrium, particularly as you accumulate wealth and responsibilities takes significant time and energy. I am committed to ensuring that all of our clients feel confident and comfortable with their decisions around finances and investments.

I am a Chicago native and have lived here my whole life. Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends and, when time permits, I will curl up with a good book.

About Julia Schulz

Julia Schulz, CFP®, QPFC
Financial Advisor
Financial Planning Specialist
Workplace Advisor - Equity Compensation

Finding the time to focus on your goals, especially the long-term ones, can be difficult. As a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and Financial Advisor with Core Purpose Wealth Management, I work closely with you, not only to focus, but to realize your goals and dreams with a solid financial plan that considers the entirety of your life.

As a working mom, I know that long-term and strategic financial thinking is often sidelined by the sheer volume of life’s immediate needs. My goal is to unravel the complexities of your financial circumstances, develop strategies to simplify the process and free up your time so you can pursue your business goals, embark on your adventures and follow your passions.

I grew up on a farm at the “Cross Roads of America” in Effingham, Illinois, and graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in financial accounting. After earning a CPA, I began my career as an accountant and eventually moved into commercial real estate. In the midst of my career, I went back to school and earned an MBA with a focus in finance and real estate from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.

After marrying my husband Jason, I became a mother in 2004 and proceeded to have five children in 5.5 years. When Jason opened his own commercial real estate company soon after our last children were born, I quickly learned the importance of cash-flow, the art of balance, and how not to waste time.

In 2017, I re-entered the workforce and joined the Chudom Hayes Wealth Management Group as a Financial Advisor. I earned my CFP® designation in 2020, which enhanced my ability to address the wide range of planning considerations, including retirement planning, estate planning, employee benefits, tax planning, investment management and insurance. Every time I create a financial plan, I know I am making a significant difference in someone’s life. Whenever possible, I make time to connect with other professionals through the National Aging in Place Council.

Outside of work, Jason and I spend most of our extra time driving kids around and cheering them on at volleyball, basketball, swim meets and dance competitions. We love being with them and helping them grow.

About Christopher Curtin

Christopher Curtin began his tenure at Morgan Stanley in 2019, and currently works as a Financial Advisor. Having a father who is a Financial Advisor sparked Chris’ interest in finance at a young age. His passion for being a Financial Advisor stems from his drive to help others. Planning for the future can often be a daunting task and is why Chris takes pleasure in helping others plan for retirement, education, estate planning, and other long-term goals.

Chris attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Since joining Morgan Stanley, Chris passed the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam and obtained his Series 7 and Series 66 Licenses as he grew. His approach to investing is all about goals-based planning. If you go into investing blind with your only metric being to make money, you have no way of knowing if you will be able to reach all your goals. By working backwards, we can adjust our approach as needed to ensure that our clients achieve the goals that are most important to them. Chris also puts a great emphasis on not only having a professional relationship with his clients, but a personal one; to learn about their lives and aspirations, in addition to their financial goals.

Chris is a Chicago/Illinois native born and raised. He grew up in the suburbs of Chicago where his love for the city grew. After attending college, he moved into the city’s Wicker Park neighborhood where he currently resides. Outside of the office, Chris roots for Chicago Sports such as the Bears, Bulls, White Sox, and Blackhawks. He also enjoys music and has played the guitar since his childhood.

About Oswaldo Alanis

Oswaldo Alanis, CFP®, QPFC®
Financial Planning Specialist
Financial Advisor

I empower clients by giving them tools to build a strategic vision for their financial future. As a Certified Financial Planner and Qualified Plan Financial Consultant, I simplify complex financial concepts to help people match their money goals with what's most important to them. Understanding how money works can change lives, and I help my clients rethink how they use their wealth.

My journey into financial services began in 2017 when I joined the team as an intern. I quickly learned that everyone has a unique money story that shapes their financial attitude and behavior. This sparked my passion for sharing knowledge and becoming a thinking partner during life's most pivotal moments. I am fluent in Spanish, embrace my heritage, and understand what it’s like to thrive in a new culture, where English may not be your first language. I am proud to assist a diverse clientele, celebrate their milestones, and witness the positive impact of strategic financial planning.

I believe the human connection matters most in financial guidance. While the numbers are essential, my focus is connecting with clients, understanding their needs, and helping them achieve their unique goals by using money as a tool. Seeing clients attain their retirement dreams, secure their children's education, or contribute to causes that feed their passion is how I measure my success.

Outside of the office, I find joy in the art of cooking and the sense of adventure from exploring new restaurants. I feel fulfilled by creating memories with family and friends, and nurturing my love of salsa dancing, soccer, and kickboxing. These passions are a reminder of the importance of balance and connection in every part of my life.

My goal is to positively impact the lives of my clients and meet them wherever they are in their financial journey. I aim for every client to be informed and excited about their financial future.

5An investment in an exchange-traded fund (ETF) involves risks similar to those of investing in a broadly based portfolio of equity securities traded on exchange in the relevant securities market, such as market fluctuations caused by such factors as economic and political developments, changes in interest rates and perceived trends in stock prices. The investment return and principal value of ETF investments will fluctuate, so that an investor’s ETF shares, if or when sold, may be worth more or less than the original cost.

Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of an exchange-traded fund (ETF) before investing. The prospectus contains this and other information about the ETF. To obtain a prospectus, contact your Financial Advisor or visit the ETF company’s website. 13Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
