My Story and Services

As a Financial Advisor with over two decades of experience in the industry, I've always emphasized that my clients are my boss. Their success is my success.

While I consult with clients from many backgrounds, I typically advise individuals and their families, corporate executives, endowments and foundations. I primarily focus on financial planning with the goal of both increasing and preserving wealth through sound asset management. As someone who emphasizes the importance of family, I take a special joy in working with the next generations of families—educating them about wealth management while hoping to alleviate their financial anxiety. In the often-turbulent financial landscape, it's imperative for me to be a calming presence.

Relationship-building is the heart of my practice. Most new clients become long-term clients. Being a solo practitioner provides the opportunity to get to know each client in a one-to-one setting. My clients appreciate this personalized level of service while still having access to the vast resources of one of the nation's leading financial firms.

I treat my clients the way I want my parents to be treated. It's important clients understand the markets and their holdings, the reasoning behind their investment strategies and any associated costs they may face. Full transparency is a must.

It's also essential to know what truly matters to each client from a life perspective. As our relationship develops, I can remind them about the purpose behind the use of their assets, and encourage them to pursue what brings them happiness instead of fixating on financial goals. Being the parent of a cancer survivor taught me that life is too fleeting to be lived otherwise.

For my efforts over the years, I've been recognized as a Denver Five Star Wealth Manager from 2012-2025; named as a 2018 Forbes America's Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor, 2019 Forbes Best-in-State Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor and 2025 Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor; and featured in the Wall Street Journal and 5280 Magazine.

But my greatest honor comes from my clients. Again, their success is my success.

Investment Approach

I seek to manage client assets in a manner that's best for their performance while also striving to manage taxes and help ensure proper diversification. This often involves being overweight or underweight in various sectors, as well as adjusting the cash levels accordingly.

I frequently talk with clients about current market conditions, and the importance of having their portfolio positioned correctly. Many clients aren't aware of the importance of active tax management, as well as how macro-economic and political factors can influence their investment or portfolio returns—including decisions made by the White House, Federal Reserve and Congress. From being a Congressional intern in 2001, I have a different perspective on these matters, and keep up-to-date on any legislative or policy moves that might impact my clients.

As a client, I'll be interested in your opinion about what will happen with the markets or economy. I've found that involving my clients in the decision-making process can make them feel more comfortable with our investment selections.

Additionally, I work with some of the best active portfolio managers who offer tax-managed solutions focusing on dividend growth and will also execute trades as needed. My clients seem to appreciate that I'm not only supervising their investments but collaborating with top professionals in their field to help facilitate their investment strategies.

HELPING ACHIEVE YOUR DEFINITION OF SUCCESS

Most clients think the financial world is complex and confusing. That's why I strive to simplify financial planning for my clients.

It starts with the plan itself. Standard financial plans often contain at least 50 pages, which makes it difficult for most individuals to comprehend and absorb the information.

So, instead, I provide clients with a one-page financial plan that covers every financial account or "bucket" that I oversee (including external assets). In other words, it provides an overview of their total wealth. The plan succinctly highlights why I'm recommending certain investments for that bucket, as well as its investment objectives, risk tolerances and asset protection strategies. Every bucket features different goals and strategies. I regularly review the performance of each bucket, and will recommend changes if necessary to keep it on track.

By segmenting assets into these easily understandable buckets, I've found it's increased client satisfaction with their financial planning process. And, perhaps more importantly, it seems to reduce their investment anxiety.
As part of the financial planning process, I can also consult with a client's other trusted advisors— such as a CPA or estate attorney—to help ensure all aspects of their wealth management are working in harmony towards their goals.
