Biography

Alex Garry is a Financial Advisor and partner on The Blue Cornerstone Group at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. With over a decade of experience working in Financial Services, Alex started his career at UBS Financial Services immediately upon graduating from college. After UBS, Alex held various positions in the asset management industry where he was responsible for communicating the benefits of different investment strategies to a wide range of institutional investors across the U.S.

During his time in asset management, Alex worked at some of the top investment firms in the world where he learned the intricacies of portfolio construction. It was also a period that shaped his views on investing. He believes that there are certain characteristics within businesses that make them higher quality investment opportunities when compared to the broader market. Those characteristics include businesses that have globally recognized brands, high levels of free cash-flow, and very strong balance sheets. From his experience, investment strategies that are aligned with this approach can potentially lead to better returns over time.

Alex graduated from Marist College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in International Business and minor in Political Science. He also holds a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation which he obtained after completing coursework at The Wharton School of Business.

Outside of work, Alex spends as much time as possible with his family. He also enjoys golfing in the Spring & Summer and snowboarding in the winter.

My Process

My Team and I utilize the following four step process that brings planning into action.

Step 1 – Discovery session
A meeting to learn about you, your family and your priorities. We will go into detail on your goals, values and concerns. We will gather data, documents and statements and help you organize your financial life.

Step 2 – Strategic proposal
A meeting to present our recommended course of action. We will assess the overall strength of your financial foundation and identify areas for improvement. This will include a detailed review of current net worth including all assets, liabilities, life and long-term care insurance. We will identify specific short and long- term goals.

Step 3 – Plan refinement and implementation
A meeting to refine investment strategies and execute your plan. We will present detailed financial planning action steps and provide asset allocation, investment portfolio and risk management recommendations
