Meet Young and Associates

About Me

Cheryl Young, CFP®, ChFC®, CPM®, has been a financial advisor since 1998 and is the founder of Young & Associates. As a Certified Financial Advisor® and Portfolio Manager®, Cheryl brings a comprehensive approach to wealth management, specializes in portfolio management and stock option planning, and enjoys working with entrepreneurs, executives, engineers and professional athletes in Silicon Valley. 

Cheryl is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley. She has been recognized and quoted as a top Wealth Advisor in numerous publications including The Wall St. Journal, Forbes Magazine, Barron’s, On Wall Street, Registered Rep, Financial Times, and Working Mother Magazine. She has been ranked by Barron’s in the top 1% since 2009, and made the Top 100 Forbes list since it’s inauguration in 2016.

Cheryl has taught numerous classes to Fortune 500 companies on what she likes to call “Financial Fitness,” and she has spoken about options at the Montreal and the New York Stock Exchanges. She is on the Leadership Board for the Options Industry Council, the educational arm of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, and is a board member of Omniquo, Inc.  Cheryl is also a leader in educating women in finance both at a firm level and in her community.

Cheryl attended New Mexico State University on a Presidential Scholarship, starting at age 16 and graduating at age 20 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Business.  She continued her post-graduate work in Biochemistry at the University of New Mexico.  Cheryl earned her Certified Portfolio Manager Certification through Columbia University’s Masters of Engineering School in 2013.

Cheryl is also active in local philanthropy, including serving on the board of Archbishop Mitty High School and Fresh Lifelines for Youth. She is an avid runner and has completed many marathons including the Boston Marathon multiple times.  Cheryl is the mother of three active boys, and loves skiing, kickboxing, good wines and traveling. Social impact is an area of focus both professionally and personally.

About Me

Boaz is the Young & Associates Team lead financial planning and insurance analyst, and has been with the Team since 2008. Boaz works diligently with the Team’s advisor and clients to address the unique needs of high-net-worth families and small businesses. Clients can contact Boaz with any general financial planning questions, analysis updates, estate planning, and insurance needs. He is also the emergency/backup contact if Cheryl is unavailable.

A member of the financial services industry since 2004, Boaz holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses; California Life, Health and Long-Term Care Insurance Licenses; Variable Contracts Insurance License; and is pursuing the Certified Financial Planner™ designation. Boaz is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, where he earned a B.A. in Economics.

Boaz is an avid Bay area sports fan and enjoys supporting his teams. He lives in Campbell with his wife Vanessa and his two sons, Brayden and Jordan.

About Me

Wey joined the Young & Associates Team in 2016 as Group Director, bringing over 18 years of industry experience and knowledge to the team. Prior to joining the team, Wey served as Complex Risk Officer and Assistant Operations Manager at Morgan Stanley. Wey coordinates all administrative and operational functions for Young & Associates and manages supporting team members to ensure a high-quality experience for clients. While Wey is primarily responsible for managing Team operations, clients can call Wey directly for help with setting up new accounts, consolidating of retirement assets, and with any general questions.

Wey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA from University of Central Arkansas. She is series 7, 63, 65, 3, and 9/10-licensed and brings to the team her wealth of knowledge in industry rules and regulations.

Wey lives in Los Gatos with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys vegetable gardening, cooking, and challenging her husband and her boys on the tennis court. Born and raised in Malaysia, Wey is fluent in Malay, Mandarin and three Chinese other dialects.

About Me

Jennifer is an Assistant Vice President and Wealth Management Associate and has been with the Young & Associates Team since 2006. She is a highly-organized office manager and is dedicated to providing attentive, efficient service to each and every client. In addition to managing the Team’s schedule, Jennifer helps integrate private banking for clients, handles money movements and scheduling. Jennifer is the first point of contact for clients, and can coordinate which Team member can best address their complex needs.

Jennifer has extensive industry experience, and holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses. A 2003 graduate of Chico State University, Jennifer holds a B.S. degree in Hotel Management and Business Administration. When not working, she enjoys taking classes at Dailey Method, Studio Kicks and spending time with her daughter, Maddie, husband, Jeff and dog, Ryder.

About Me

Nick joined Young & Associates as a Wealth Management Associate. Coming from a planning background, his values are in line with the team’s philosophy that focuses on the particular needs of Young & Associates high net worth clients. He helps the team with the analysis, construction, and ongoing updates of client’s comprehensive financial plans.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from San Jose State University in 2012 and has been in the Financial Services industry since. He holds his Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses; CA Life, Health, and Long-Term Care Insurance Licenses; Variable Contracts Insurance License.

While not working Nick enjoys: discovering new restaurants to share with friends and family, finding scenic mountain roads to drive on, staying active doing circuit training inspired workouts, traveling & cooking with his girlfriend Gia, and outdoor activities ranging from hiking to target shooting.

Marci joined Young & Associates in 2017. As the Client Service Associate she is responsible for account maintenance, client service, and daily operations.She comes to our team from the personal lines insurance industry.A Los Gatos native, Marci is a dedicated volunteer within the community. She enjoys spending time with her two sons and wine tasting and hiking with friends.
