About Michelle Ashley Hart
My love for the markets began when I was young. After school, I’d sit with my grandfather as he watched the stock market and followed his portfolio with a quiet intensity. This became a tradition—several afternoons a week, whenever he and my grandmother visited. He was passionate about investing, which piqued my interest and sparked my curiosity about how it all worked.
When I was 12, just before the school year began, my father gave me a challenge: invest a fictitious $1,000 in the stock market. At the end of the year, he’d review my performance. The twist? Any “profit” I made would be paid out to me in real dollars. Losses would be paper only. That incentive sparked something in me. I had a chance to explore investing without real risk—but with real reward.
I did my homework, picked well-known companies I believed in—brands I used or admired, like McDonald’s and Walmart—and tracked my investments closely. I bought, sold, and stayed engaged. By year-end, my portfolio had grown, and my dad kept his word. I was hooked.
That spark ignited a lifelong career that’s now spanned over 30 years. When I began, most of my clients were between 50 and 75 years old. Their needs then were different from what they are today. But one thing has remained constant: trust. Many of these relationships have lasted decades. I’ve helped clients build, preserve, and ultimately pass on the wealth they’ve spent a lifetime accumulating.
I’m proud to serve a vital niche of the financial services world: our senior population. This work is more than a job—it’s a calling. I take a hands-on, personalized approach to help ensure my clients’ day-to-day financial needs are met while helping them navigate the broader, often complex decisions that come with aging.
Together, we craft plans that allow them to care for their loved ones and support the causes they cherish. We have meaningful, and sometimes difficult, conversations: reviewing beneficiary designations, reviewing wills and trusts, choosing a power of attorney. These are essential steps to help provide confidence—not just for the client, but for the entire family.
I make a point to involve their trusted family members or friends in the process. When everyone is informed and aligned, outcomes can potentially be better and unnecessary complications—like the probate process—can often be avoided. Over time, many of these family members have become clients themselves. Some of the most rewarding moments of my career have come from serving multiple generations of the same family.
I became a partner at the Yehuda Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley because I saw greater opportunities to serve my clients at a higher level. Many of them now rely on me to create legacy income programs—enabling them to donate appreciated stock to foundations and charities, receive tax deductions, and income stream. Others look to me to help fund their grandchildren’s education in a way that’s both thoughtful and tax-efficient.
Prior to joining Yehuda Wealth Management, I held positions at J.P. Morgan Securities, LLC, and Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association.
On a personal note, I’m fortunate to work alongside my husband, Seth Hart, who is not only my life partner but also my professional partner. Together, we’re raising two wonderful sons and making the most of every opportunity to travel and explore the world as a family.
