About Jim Willer
Jim started his career in the financial services industry in 1971, joining Morgan Stanley in 1973. Beginning as a Financial Advisor, he entered branch management in 1985. Jim served as Iowa Nebraska Complex Manager from 2009 until 2021 and Senior Advisor until 2022 before going back to his roots as a Financial Advisor and teaming with his son Patrick. He has served on the Morgan Stanley National Branch Manager Council and is the recipient of Morgan Stanley’s Community Leadership award and Dowling Catholic High School Distinguished Alumni award.
Jim is a lifelong resident of Des Moines and an alumnus of Iowa State University.
His commitment to service extends into the wider Des Moines community. A partial list of his service on numerous boards, quite often as president, include Des Moines Performing Arts, Variety Club of Iowa, Salisbury House & Gardens, Hoyt Sherman Place, Junior Achievement of Central Iowa, St. Augustin Parish, Bishop Drumm Retirement Center, Mercy Clinic, ChildServe Foundation and Dowling Catholic High School Foundation.
Jim has been married to his wife Ann since 1974. They raised 2 children, Patrick and Katherine, and have 2 grandchildren.
