Logan Whitman, Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist®
Logan Whitman earned the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) designation from the College for Financial Planning in 2019. He serves as the retirement plan strategist on the team, focusing on the design, implementation, and ongoing review of employer-sponsored plans such as 401(k)s.
Logan works with employers on plan oversight, management and governance, oversees investment lineup evaluation and monitoring, and benchmarks plan features and costs to assess competitiveness and efficiency. Beyond plan oversight, our CRPS® supports business owners in evaluating how retirement plans may fit into broader business and wealth planning considerations, such as tax-aware savings approaches and employee benefits strategy. He strives to develop benefit strategies that may support retention and new hire attraction and aims to design tax-optimized succession planning in coordination with the owner’s tax and legal advisors.
Lastly, he leads participant engagement efforts by hosting savings education sessions and promoting behaviors that may help increase participation and deferral rates. Logan’s primary goal is to help your employees work toward retirement readiness.

About Logan Whitman
Logan joined Morgan Stanley in June 2016 to round out the Whitman Group of TN family team. Prior to beginning his professional career, like his father and brother, he attended East Tennessee State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, with a concentration in corporate investments and a minor in marketing.
Logan continued his education by earning the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist® (CRPS®) designation from the College for Financial Planning in 2019. This designation helped him develop proficiency in managing and administering workplace retirement plans, such as 401(k)s.
On the team, Logan’s roles and responsibilities include client acquisition, business management and operations, and relationship management. He also works closely with small business owner clients to develop tax-efficient succession plans.
Logan and his wife, Dr. Julie, were married in December 2022. They welcomed their son, James “Grey” Whitman, in December 2024, and currently live in Maryville, TN. Traci has multifaceted duties in the day-to-day operations of the Whitman Group. She is generally the first point of contact with the Whitman Group. She handles all administrative issues, client contact management and is knowledgeable with investments under management. Prior to Morgan Stanley and after nine years working with a local law firm, Traci joined a regional investment firm in 1996 as a Client Service Representative.
