My Story and Services

As an estate planning attorney,* I noticed I didn’t get to help people with everything they needed. Sure, I created a Trust or settled an Estate in Probate, but I didn’t get to stick with my clients and help them through what happened next. Frankly, I felt like I was missing out on all the "good" stuff.

As a Financial Advisor, I get to discuss retirement goals, legacy planning, and tax saving strategies. I educate my clients to empower them to move forward on their goals; in short, I help with all the “good” stuff.

*former attorney; no longer practicing law.

About Me

I grew up small town Nebraska. I attended Hasting College in Hastings, Nebraska. I majored in History, Business Administration, and Economics. While still a Freshman at Hastings, I enlisted in the Nebraska Army National Guard.

In 2003, I deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following my return home, I graduated college and entered the University of Nebraska - College of Law.

In law school, I finally found what I had been dreaming of…season tickets to the Husker Football games. After graduating law school in 2008, I received a commission in the active duty Air Force as a Judge Advocate (JAG). I served as an active duty JAG, prosecuting and defending Airmen for almost six years before I transitioned to the Nebraska Air National Guard.

In 2014, I began my civilian legal career as in-house counsel for Fidelity Title Group. I focused on real estate and insurance law issues. In 2019, I accepted a position with Elder Law of Omaha, P.C., L.L.O. I assisted clients with estate planning, probate, guardianships and Medicaid.

In 2020, after almost 20 years of military service, I promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the Nebraska Air National Guard.

In 2021, I joined Morgan Stanley. As a financial advisor, I get to use my knowledge of real estate, insurance and estate planning laws to assist my clients.

My husband, Mike, and I have three kids, Louise, Violet and Wesley, and a dog, Roosevelt (“Rosy”). We enjoy visiting with our extended family and busing our kids to soccer, gymnastics and piano lessons.

Widows

Tab Image
My Dad passed away far too young at age 64. He's pictured above with my middle child, teaching her the cups game at age 3.

While my Mom had handled the day-to-day finances, she did not have a good handle on retirement savings. I hated her being told to just "Trust me" by financial professionals. She is a smart woman who can understand the market and how to invest.

Helping my Mom plan her retirement was so rewarding. She gained confidence in herself and what she can accomplish.

I love getting to do the same for other women facing the death of their partners.

My unique background gives me the experience and tools to help you. I practiced law for thirteen years before becoming a financial advisor.

Previously, as a lawyer, I set up Trusts and probated Estates.

I loved working with my clients as an attorney but wanted to assist my clients with more issues over the long term. Being a financial advisor gives me that opportunity.

Work with me to achieve your financial goals, understand your investments and get a solid plan in place for your future needs.

Serving My Fellow Veterans

Tab Image
As a veteran, I understand the benefits veterans earned and the processes to get them.

I’d be honored to work with my fellow veterans.

In September 2000, I enlisted in the Army National Guard. Enlisting meant I would have something in common with the great men and women who have served our country.

In 2008, I continued my service as an active duty Air Force Jag. I met my husband, Michael, while we were both assigned to Grand Forks AFB (truly the "Frozen Chosen"). We both transitioned to the Air National Guard in 2014.

I retired from the Air National Guard in May 2023.

Through my time in the Army and then Air Force, I continue to be so impressed with my fellow veterans.

Divorce

You deserve the opportunity to be heard and helped by someone who is on your side.
Empower Yourself
I hate when women are told to just "Trust me". You can understand your finances. You can make decisions based on your preferences.

I am a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®. I received additional training in order to assist my clients with the finances that go with a divorce.

My unique background gives me the experience and tools to help you. I practiced law for thirteen years before becoming a financial advisor.

Previously, as a lawyer, I helped clients through Divorce. I saw women struggle with difficulty of the process, the numbers and the emotions.

I loved working with my clients as an attorney but wanted to assist my clients with more issues over the long term. Being a financial advisor gives me that opportunity.
Work with me to achieve your financial goals, understand your investments and get a solid plan in place for your future needs.
