    About Me

    Michael Huntsman brings more than three decades of investing and planning experience to the needs of highly accomplished business founders and leaders, as well as their families and foundations. Serving as a close family advisor, Michael offers the experienced guidance needed to make informed decisions on complex, multigenerational financial issues. These often include the diversification of a concentrated equity position, the formation of a tax-efficient wealth-transfer strategy or the personal financial issues related to the sale of a privately held enterprise.     Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2023, Michael had successful tenures at UBS, Deutsche Bank-Alex Brown and Bank of America-Private Bank. He holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from The Investment & Wealth Institute.

    Michael is a proud alum of the University of Southern California, where he earned a degree in business administration. Active in his community, he serves on the Loyola High School Finance Committee and volunteers with Naturally Los Angeles, an organization that supports the growth of the local “better for you” consumer packaged goods industry. Michael and his wife, Christi, have four adult children and make their home in Santa Monica, California.

    Drawing on more than 36 years of financial industry experience, Mike Tusing crafts comprehensive wealth management solutions for highly affluent families, individuals, family offices and institutional clients. These often encompass strategies for legacy wealth transfer, pre-liquidity event planning, the use of balance sheet leverage and the management of highly concentrated equity positions. Thanks to the trust his clients have placed in him, Mike was named as one of Forbes’ Best-in-State Wealth Advisors in Missouri in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

    Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2023, Mike spent over nine years at UBS and eight years at Deutsche Bank-Alex Brown as a Financial Advisor. He also formerly served on the Management team at Bank of America Private Bank as a Senior Executive in Los Angeles. Mike graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University and went on to earn his MBA from St. Louis University. He holds advanced designations which include Certified Private Wealth Advisor and Certified Exit Planning Advisor.

    Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for everyone in his community, Mike serves on the board of directors of The Weingart Center, a 30-year-old organization focused on breaking the cycle of homelessness in Los Angeles. Mike chairs the Weingart's Compensation Committee and served an eight-year term as chair of the Finance Committee and member of the Executive Committee.

    Mike and his wife Jennifer split time between their homes in St Louis and Los Angeles, have two grown children and two grandchildren.

    Thomas Hobbs brings 19 years of professional investing and wealth planning experience to meet the complex financial needs of high net worth families, individuals and large private corporations. Thomas directs the financial planning for the group, focusing on the development of portfolio allocation and investment strategies based on the specific goals of each client. He also serves as the team’s lead in assessing client portfolios to optimize the risk return continuum.

    Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2023, Thomas spent over 19 years as a Financial Advisor at UBS, Deutsche Bank-Alex Brown and Bank of America Private Bank. Before starting his financial career, Thomas proudly served as an Intelligence Officer with the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Major.

    A native of Illinois, Thomas graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Education. He also received his Master of Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Thomas currently holds the Portfolio Management Director designation at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management.

    In his spare time, Thomas’ focus is on his family and giving back to his community. He volunteers his time at Los Alamitos High School as an Assistant Lacrosse Coach for the boys’ varsity team. Thomas and his wife, Susan, have three children and make their home in Long Beach, California.

    About Mitchell Tusing

    Dedicated to delivering an outstanding service experience to every client of the team, Mitch Tusing serves as the primary point of contact for all administrative functions within the team. He utilizes his strong organizational skills to facilitate team operations and customer service in the areas of account maintenance, asset movement and marketing.

    Mitch joined the Tusing Huntsman Hobbs Group in 2020 and moved with the team from UBS to Morgan Stanley in 2023. He previously worked as a licensed Mortgage Consultant with CapGrow Home Mortgage, a private mortgage firm in St. Louis.

    Mitch is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in personal financial management. While at Mizzou, he was selected as Captain of the university men's lacrosse program. After graduation, he assisted with the establishment of the Mizzou Lacrosse Alumni Association, where he currently serves as a board member and treasurer. The organization is dedicated to supporting the University of Missouri’s men’s lacrosse program and to the development of youth lacrosse through numerous camps and clinics held on campus.

    Mitch and his wife, Melanie, have two young sons, James and Lincoln. When not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and honing his woodworking craftsmanship.

    Responsible for an extensive range of administrative and operational functions, Joseph Peña delivers exceptional support to the team's advisors, aimed at enhancing client experiences through personalized and outstanding service.

    Joseph joined Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management in 2020, after spending the previous two years as a Client Relationship Consultant at U.S. Bank in Pasadena.

    Joseph holds an AA-T in Economics from Pasadena City College and is a native of Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides. Beyond his professional life, he enjoys great food, golf, and playing his guitar.
