My Story and Services

Over the past 20 years, Tommy has earned a reputation of truly understanding his clients. He prides himself on the relationships that he has nurtured during his tenure in the financial services industry and strives to deliver an exceptional client experience. Tommy is responsible for the creation and management of wealth management strategies and business retirement plans for high net worth individuals and families, business owners, and corporate executives. He has extensive knowledge working with tech professionals in pre-liquidity planning leveraging corporation options and RSUs. He also helps clients with the offshore investing needs.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2011, Tommy was a Financial Advisor at Wells Fargo for nine years. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Currently, he works as an International Client Advisor for the firm, and he is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) and a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS®), both considered to be among the most respected and recognized designations in the industry.

Tommy belongs to the Sunnyvale Rotary, Monte Jade Science, and Technology Association. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and lives in Redwood Shores with his wife and two children. In his free time, Tommy enjoys spending time with family and friends, coaching his kid’s sporting teams, and being an avid Bay Area sports fan.

Meet My Team

About Hank Peng

Hank joined the Tommy's team in 2021 with a strong desire to protect families. He works as an Wealth Management Associate, where he supports senior financial advisors in facilitating wealth management strategies and comprehensive financial planning to protect clients/family’s financial well-being. The motivation behind this is that Hank’s family’s success during the expansion of China’s economic growth. However, due to a lack of financial planning and financial literacy, his family experienced a major financial hit during the economic crisis. It was a arduous experience and that required a lengthy period of recovery. He strives to continually improve and learn so that his clients have the comfort of knowing that they are in good hands.

Before joining Morgan Stanley, Hank worked as a Relationship Manager with Fidelity Investments Palo Alto branch, where he supported three different financial consultants with client management and services items. He obtained Series 7, Series 66, CA Life Insurance, and Notary Public licenses within 4 months of joining Fidelity, and was promoted within 6 months. Hank graduated from the Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine in 2018, with a dual degree in finance and marketing.

Growing up under the influence of his family businesses, Hank can easily connect to core family principles, along with business literacy, which has resulted in proven growth throughout his career. Hank was born and raised in the city of Chengdu in China. Due to his affinity for spicy food, Hank named his cat Little Mila, because it the name reminds him of a kind of pepper native to his hometown. Hank currently resides in San Mateo with his wife Renee. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and eating spicy hotpots with his family.

About Thomas Chi

Thomas Chi is a Private Banker serving Morgan Stanley Wealth Management offices in California.

Private Bankers partner with Financial Advisors to develop a specialized approach for managing clients’ cash flow, liquidity and financing needs, leveraging our comprehensive suite of cash management and lending solutions.

Thomas began his career in financial services in 2007, and joined Morgan Stanley in 2014 as an Associate Private Banker. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Citigold Relationship Manager at Citibank.

Thomas is a graduate of California State University at East Bay, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with concentrations in Finance and Corporate Management. He lives in Redwood Shores, California. Outside of the office, Thomas enjoys mentoring, golfing, playing pickleball, traveling and engaging in board games with his family.
