About Tina Swanson

Tina Swanson joins Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor and Branch Manager with a distinguished career in the financial services industry. She brings over two decades of experience and a steadfast commitment to delivering best-in-class service. Previously serving as a Financial Advisor and Resident Director at Merrill Lynch's Stillwater, Minnesota office, Tina has consistently demonstrated her passion for putting clients first, leading with integrity and transparency, and pursuing continual personal and professional growth.

Tina began her career in 1998 at Piper Jaffray as a Sales Assistant, quickly advancing to a Senior Registered Client Associate at Merrill Lynch in 2009, where she specialized in custom lending, estates, and trusts. Her career trajectory includes a pivotal role as Chief Investment Officer and Director of Financial Planning at an Independent Practice of Thrivent Financial, before returning to Merrill Lynch in 2021. Her leadership as Resident Director was marked by her dedication to mentoring and supporting financial advisors and client associates, fostering an environment of growth and excellence.

At Morgan Stanley, Tina continues her mission to connect clients with global resources and comprehensive financial solutions. Her capabilities span from investment strategies, retirement and income planning, trust and estate planning, philanthropic giving, and custom credit and lending. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, she holds FINRA Series 7, 9/10, and 66 registrations, along with Insurance licenses, equipping her to guide clients through complex financial landscapes with empathy, integrity, and transparency. Tina is a graduate of St. Cloud State University, holding a bachelor’s degree in finance and speech communications.

Tina Swanson is dedicated to helping high-net-worth and ultra-affluent individuals and families navigate the complexities of wealth management, focusing on paycheck replacement, cash flow management, investment strategy, and legacy planning. Her approach is rooted in understanding each client’s unique values and goals, ensuring they feel confident and in control of their financial future.

Outside of work, Tina lives in Stillwater with her husband. They have three young adult children, two in college and one working full-time, their favorite humans. Tina serves on the Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Board and enjoys walking, hiking, skiing, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Their two pups, Lucy and Winnie, keep life full of love and frustration, as only dogs can.
