My Story and Services

For me, retirement planning means more than providing my clients with investment advice. It means helping them maintain the financial independence they’ve worked their whole lives to achieve. It means striving to help ensure they have the means to pursue what’s most important to them. And it means understanding them as people with unique goals, values and circumstances that determine the strategies I develop on their behalf.

My consultative process begins with an in-depth discussion of your current finances and future objectives. We’ll address issues you might have overlooked that can have a significant impact on your ability to retire as planned. Finally, we’ll determine how we can help you adjust your investment strategy as necessary to accommodate changing conditions and meet any unforeseen expenses and income demands that may arise during retirement.

Our approach focuses on comprehensive planning utilizing evidence-based analysis and sophisticated risk management strategies.

Introductory Meeting (15 - 20 minutes)
  • Address your initial questions, needs and concerns.
  • Overview of who we are, what we do and how we do it so you will know exactly what to expect and whether it makes sense to schedule a follow-up/discovery meeting.
Discovery Meeting (45 - 60 minutes)

We want to learn about you and will ask about 7 key areas we consider fundamental to understand your needs and how we can be helpful.

  1. Values – what is important to you and why?
  2. Goals – what are you trying to accomplish?
  3. Relationships – who are the most significant people in your life?
  4. Finances – assets, liabilities, income, expenses and risk tolerance.
  5. Advisors – who are your trusted advisors (CPA, attorney, etc.)?
  6. Process – how involved do you want to be in managing your finances?
  7. Interests – what do you enjoy and what motivates you?
Financial Plan and Investment Strategy Review Meeting (60 minutes): 1 - 2 weeks after Discovery Meeting)
  • Review a 1-page summary ("Total Client Profile") of the 7 key areas discussed in the Discovery Meeting.
  • Review comprehensive Financial Plan. Discuss current probability of achieving your goals and what actions can be taken to improve the probability of success.
  • Review Investment Proposal based on your personal goals and risk tolerance. Discuss rationale for strategy, specific risk metrics and overall tax-efficiency.
