Story and Services

Joining Morgan Stanley in 2001, Tom Foster is a seasoned investment professional with 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to becoming an advisor, Tom worked in both collections and lending. This background provided a foundation for helping his clients navigate risk. Through this work, he learned about the events and situations that can harm someone’s financial future as well as improve it.

Tom then went on to become an executive recruiter in Indianapolis. In this role, Tom established a new desk for the recruitment of financial advisors and stockbrokers. This is where he was introduced to and learned about the financial services industry while working with both Smith Barney and Paine Webber management and the advisors from other firms he was recruiting.

Tom then made the decision to become a financial advisor because of the help he received from financial advisors while he was in recruiting. His mother passed without a will and had a small estate, which Tom was the executor of. These advisors provided guidance, which is how he learned the true importance of sound financial advice. It is Tom’s hope that he can help his clients have their affairs in order so that their heirs will not have to go through what he did and that their plans match their values.

His practice is built on the foundation of seeking to do what is best for clients. His client-centered approach ensures that his experience and skills, along with the vast wealth resources of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, are focused on his goal- to provide a personalized, comprehensive wealth management strategy for each client.

Tom is a firm believer that trust is an important key when seeking to build long-lasting and mutually rewarding relationships with clients. He seeks to earn that trust by working closely with his clients to develop a comprehensive long-range financial plan tailored to help them meet their individual needs. He conducts business with high ethical standards and makes it a point to treat his clients with professional courtesy and respect. He is committed to providing the highest quality service possible. He defines his success by his client’s satisfaction.

He also very much enjoys when his clients experience changes in life- births of children and grandchildren, children and grandchildren going to and graduating from college. In addition, helping clients in planning to support the things that they are passionate about -- their families, churches, charities and community. Experiencing these life changing events along with his clients brings him great joy.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife Nanette. Their daughter Brandi, son in law and two granddaughters reside in Mississippi. Other interests of Tom include golf, attending numerous charity events, wine, spirits and travel. Recently, Tom graduated from the Purdue University Mitch Daniels School of Business with an MBA in May 2023.
