About Maureen A Novak

Maureen Novak is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley. She has over twenty years of combined experience in the areas of investments, financial, divorce and retirement planning. Maureen employs a thorough discovery process to uncover each client’s goals and concerns, helping develop tangible strategies to address them. She takes special care to facilitate thoughtful discussions and effective communication within each family. Maureen also helps facilitate communication among tax and legal advisors, ensuring financial advice is coordinated and comprehensive.

Maureen holds the Family Wealth Director Designation from Morgan Stanley, which is a rigorous accreditation program focused on the skills required for comprehensive wealth management including business succession planning, estate planning and family wealth planning. The designation is held by less than 5% of advisors within Morgan Stanley. Maureen also holds the designations of Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®), and is also a Corporate Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS). The CFP® designation is awarded to planners who are committed to competent and ethical behavior when providing financial planning. Maureen is also a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®). The CFA® designation is regarded to be a key certification for investment professionals, especially in the areas of research and portfolio management.

As an advocate for women, Maureen served as Chairwomen and CEO for the “Women at Morgan Stanley” local chapter. Maureen has been named Working Mother and SHOOK Research's Top Wealth Advisor Moms for the last 3 years and most recently, she was named to the Forbes' Top Women Wealth Advisors for 2020.

Maureen earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Ithaca College and her Masters of Business Administration from Boston University. Maureen and her family reside in Fayetteville, NY. She enjoys running, cooking and travel, and is an avid hockey mom.

About Cole Henderson

Cole Henderson is a Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley. He has over thirty years of experience helping people during transitional moments of their life on needs such as, pre-retirement and retirement planning, estate and trust planning strategies, and inheritance investment planning.

Cole guides people through difficult transitional moments of their life striving to help them make better decisions that can have a long term and meaningful impact on their lives and helps prevent them from making poor decisions that could have a long term negative impact. He believes that the direction and outcomes of our lives is often determined by the quality of the decisions we make and that is often determined by the quality of the process and people we work with in making those decisions.

Cole holds several industry and firm recognized designations, including the Certified Financial Planner™. The CFP® is awarded by the Certified Financial Planner™ Board of Standards. In addition, he is a Senior Portfolio Manager, Senior Investment Management Consultant, a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor.

Cole received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Accounting from Syracuse University. He received his Master of Science Degree in Wealth Management from The College for Financial Planning. Cole resides in Pompey, NY and enjoys spending time with his family as well as hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing.

About Debi Fix

Debi is a Portfolio Associate at Morgan Stanley. She began her career at Cadaret, Grant & Co. in 1988 as an Administrative Assistant. In 1995 she left there to become a Sales Assistant with Smith Barney. Over the years she has obtained many financial licenses, including the Series 7 General Securities, Series 63 Uniform Securities State Law, and her Insurance License. She is also a Notary Public for the State of New York. 

She currently works with The Liberty Group in Syracuse where she is focused on providing exceptional service and advisor support. Her responsibilities include maintaining relationships by proactively fulfilling client requests, trade support, money movement and making sure key client documentation is up to date. 

Debi lives in Fulton with her husband David. She has two children who are now fully grown. Her hobbies include working in her water garden, cross-stitching and reading.

About Erika Matos

Erika Matos is a Client Service Associate at Morgan Stanley. Her duties focus on administrative and operational tasks needed by our clients.

Erika is a 2008 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and attended college at the State University of New York at Albany where she was a double major in Latin American Studies and Political Science. In 2012 Erika became a Deputy Sheriff with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department. She worked primarily in the transport unit through February, 2020. She began her career with The Liberty Group at Morgan Stanley in March of 2020.

Erika lives in Syracuse, New York with her husband and daughter. Her hobbies and interests include spending time with her husband and young daughter, traveling, cooking and reading.

About Kathryn Mathewson

Katie is a Client Service Associate at Morgan Stanley. She began her career in July of 2017 as the Front Desk Receptionist. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in English from SUNY Cortland in 2007.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, she worked at Health Direct Institutional Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician, working her way up to Shift Supervisor in less than 2 years, and then six months later becoming Assistant Facility Manager.

As a team member of The Liberty Group, Katie is focused on the administrative component of our practice which includes servicing our clients’ day to day financial needs, providing telephone coverage and assisting with any operational questions or inquiries.

Katie was raised in Syracuse and still resides there. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, and baking. Any free time is spent with family, friends, and her boyfriend.

Elizabeth Menteur is a Private Banker serving Morgan Stanley Wealth Management offices in New York.

Private Bankers partner with Financial Advisors to develop a specialized approach for managing clients’ cash flow, liquidity and financing needs, leveraging our comprehensive suite of cash management and lending solutions.

Elizabeth began her career in financial services in 2013, and joined Morgan Stanley in 2017 as a Regional Client Engagement Associate. Elizabeth is a graduate of Northeastern University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and International Affairs and a Master of Business Administration
with a concentration in Finance. She lives in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Outside of the office, she volunteers with Invest in Girls and is a mentor and financial education coach for high school students. Elizabeth enjoys

Nancy began her career in financial services in 2005, and joined Morgan Stanley in 2019. Prior to her current position, she was a Team Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch.

Nancy graduated from Le Moyne College and holds her Certified Financial Planner®. Nancy holds the following registrations: Series 7, Series 63, Series 66 and Life and Health insurance licenses and is a Notary Public. She also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Le Moyne College.
