A Customized Approach

During the discovery phase, we meet with you to understand your priorities and the values which shape your decisions. We'll identify any unique circumstances to your situation along with review important documents to aid us in understanding your current finances and holdings.
Here, we will examine your current and future financial picture along with identify potential shortcomings and discuss the impacts of unexpected life events. We will also request permission to speak with your CPA and estate attorney to understand your tax and estate plans; this helps ensure continuity in the strategies we recommend.
After our analysis, we will prepare a comprehensive plan using proprietary financial planning tools which addresses all your specific investment needs and wealth management tools. This will be a personalized strategy including both investment recommendations and risk management strategies.
After creating this plan, we will present it to you with a detailed explanation on each recommended strategy. From here we will work together to fine-tune your plan until we are ready to begin implementing each strategy.
We will continue to monitor and track your plans progress towards your goals, meeting regularly and tailoring a communication plan to meet your personal preferences. We will continue to build a relationship that provides to both you and your family.
Helping You Leave a Legacy that Transcends Generations
Delivering an estate to the next generation or favorite charities requires more attention than families often commit. Coordinating with outside estate and tax professionals, we align estate planning goals with the appropriate asset titling and beneficiary designation requirements, while incorporating best practice tax-efficient investment strategies to help enhance results. We will set up a strategy striving to make sure your children and grandchildren are taken care of. Whether this involves estate planning strategies, insurance planning, or just taking a much longer term view on your investment horizon, the Young Group is here to guide you through this complicated process.

Meet The Young Group
About Andy Young
Andy attended Wofford College, earning his Finance degree. Upon graduation, he explored another career outside of the financial industry, prior to joining Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor. A few years after joining Morgan Stanley, he and his father formalized a partnership and established The Young Group. Nora Buscema joined the team in 2001.
An education advocate, Andy is committed to advanced learning for himself and his clients. Throughout his career, he has earned the industry’s most prestigious designations, including Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®), Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®), Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM (CRPS®) and Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC). He has also earned important certifications at Morgan Stanley, including Executive Director and Corporate Retirement Director.
These credentials demonstrate Andy’s unwavering pledge to a world-class client experience. He draws upon his deep knowledge and skills to provide clients with customized solutions. Andy enjoys working with like-minded clients who value and appreciate the care he and Nora deliver. His goals-based process begins with asking the right questions and actively listening. This information then serves as the foundation for the development of a comprehensive plan and investment portfolio that reflects each client’s goals for the future.
Andy is a lifetime resident of Charlotte, where he lives with his wife, Court, and their three children, James, Margaret & Hattie. A compassionate believer in giving back to his community, Andy is active in a number of local organizations. He is currently on the Board of the Alexander Youth Foundation and a member of its endowment committee. He is also a member of APIC, IMCA, the Charlotte Benefits Forum and the Charlotte Estate Planning Council, where he served as president in 2019/2020. About Nora Buscema
Throughout her 25-year career, Nora has remained committed to professional development. Most recently, she earned the firm’s Family Wealth Director designation. This credential – earned by less than 5% of the firm’s advisors as of September 2020 – builds off of her extensive experience working with ultra-high net worth families. Nora and her team are now able to provide affluent families with access to a variety of family advisory services that can address the multigenerational challenges of managing significant wealth. These include family governance and wealth education, philanthropy management and lifestyle advisory programs. Other industry credentials Nora has earned include Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®), and Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist® (CRPS®).
Nora graduated from East Tennessee State University with a B.B.A. degree in Finance. She began her career at GMAC before joining Morgan Stanley in 2000. Her mentor was Jim Young, a highly regarded advisor with over 35 years of industry experience. Jim’s son, Andy, was also at the onset of his advisory career. Growing up in the business together and studying under the same mentor made it a natural decision to form a partnership. Today, Nora enjoys working with a broad array of clients – from families to business owners to nonprofit organizations – to help them achieve their goals and simplify their finances.
Nora’s desire to help others is equaled only by her dedication to her community and her family. Over the years, she has been involved with many local organizations. She is a former Board member of the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte, a past Chairperson of the United Way of Central Carolinas Crisis and Shelter Community Investment Council, and a former member of the United Way of Central Carolinas Mecklenburg Community Investment Council. Outside of the office, she enjoys running, hanging out at the beach and travelling. Her life centers on a love for her family. She and her husband, Mike, find their most valued assets are their three children. They love going on adventures and introducing them to new activities they can do as a family.
