Forbes 2025 Best-In-State Wealth Management Teams
    The WTL Group, Ranked #22

Source: Forbes (Jan 2025) 2025 Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Management Teams ranking awarded in 2025. This ranking was determined based on an evaluation process conducted by SHOOK Research LLC (the research company) in partnership with Forbes (the publisher) for the period from 3/31/23–3/31/24. Neither Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC nor its Financial Advisors or Private Wealth Advisors paid a fee to SHOOK Research LLC, for placement on its rankings. This ranking is based on in-person and telephone due diligence meetings to evaluate each Financial Advisor qualitatively, a major component of a ranking algorithm that includes client retention, industry experience, review of compliance records, firm nominations, and quantitative criteria, including assets under management and revenue generated for their firms. Investment performance is not a criterion. Rankings are based on the opinions of SHOOK Research LLC and may not be representative of any one client’s experience; investors must carefully choose the right Financial Advisor or team for their own situation and perform their own due diligence. This ranking is not indicative of the Financial Advisor’s future performance. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC is not affiliated with SHOOK Research LLC or Forbes. Forbes 2020 Best-In-State Wealth Advisors: Brian Tarquinio and Thomas Wentling
Both Brian and Tom were named Best-In-State Wealth Advisors for 2020 by Forbes Magazine. This ranking, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Neither Forbes or SHOOK receive a fee in exchange for rankings.

About Richard Barbarita

Richard Barbarita has been working with clients and small business owners for over 40 years as a Financial Advisor in order to help them navigate difficult financial decisions with ease. Over that time, Rich has gained a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that he now brings to bear in helping service the needs of The WTL Group’s clients.

Beginning in 1975, Rich joined UBS as a Financial Advisor and quickly expanded his responsibilities to become the Branch Manager of the office in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. There he grew the number of Advisors from 10 to 16, and would later move on to become the Branch Manager of UBS’ Baltimore complex from 1989 to 1999, where he was charged with managing 45 Financial Advisors and promoting business development throughout the complex. These years of experience in the industry and time spent in all different levels of the business have been invaluable, especially during the team’s move to Morgan Stanley in 2020. Rich has been able to take the lessons learned in his prior roles and apply them to today to help ensure that as times continue to change, clients can trust that this experience will help them in planning for their future.
