Meet The Woods Group

About Janet L. Woods

Janet is a First Vice President and Family Wealth Advisor with over 20 years of industry experience. She is the founding member of The Woods group, alongside her daughter, Aimee. Janet’s career has been devoted to providing clients with the financial freedom to focus on the things that matter to them: things such as building a business, leaving a legacy, caring for a special needs child, playing professional sports, moving through the transitions of life (job changes, retirement, marriage, divorce, death, inheritance), just to name a few. She is an experienced relationship manager who focuses on comprehensive wealth planning for clients and their heirs.

In attaining the Family Wealth Advisor designation at Morgan Stanley, Janet has demonstrated her ongoing ability to work closely with families to understand their unique circumstances-not just their finances, but also their individual and collective goals that may impact one another. Janet and her team take a disciplined, diligent approach to delivering white glove service and a standard of care that encompasses each family’s best interests and complete financial picture.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in January 2014, Janet began her career with UBS in 1998. Ms. Woods graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a BBA in Accounting. Ms. Woods is a founding member and co-chair of the Dallas Women’s Advisory Council at Morgan Stanley. She was awarded Team Networking Leader of the Year in 2013, the Jo Wagner award in 2008, and Networker of the Year in 2004. Ms. Woods maintains associations with the Dallas Estate Planning Council, World Affairs Council, Women on Boards, Junior League of Dallas, National Association of Female Executives, National Association of Professional Women, W2W Link, and Team Networking Dallas. She was a founding member of the Dallas LGBT Chamber of Commerce and has served on numerous nonprofit boards and several for profit boards including start- up companies.

Ms. Woods resides in Dallas and has three grown children. She enjoys competitive ballroom dancing, international travel, thoroughbred horses, the arts and theater, and philanthropic service.
