With over forty years of portfolio management experience and an extensive academic background, which includes a CFA©, an MBA from Crummer Graduate School of Business, and a Masters of Applied Economics from the University of Central Florida, Kent manages each client’s portfolio using Modern Portfolio Theory, assessing risk and return ratios to match each client’s short and long term goals. Relying on historical economic cycles, his portfolios combine active and passive indexing strategies to focus on returns, as well as market risk. Kent developed his investment portfolio in 1994 and continues his portfolio strategies exactly the same today.

About Kent Akins
Thirty-six years of portfolio management experience and an extensive academic background give Kent Akins a sound approach in any market. Kent received his Master of Business Administration degree in 1991 at the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College and a Master of Applied Economics degree from the University of Central Florida in 2001. Additionally, Kent Akins has completed and received the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
With an emphasis on consistent communication and excellence in service, Kent Akins manages each client’s assets using Modern Portfolio Theory, assessing risk and return ratios to match each client’s short and long term goals. “Our comprehensive financial planning approach to managing our high net worth clients means that we go beyond portfolio management and work with our clients’ complete financial picture” says Kent Akins. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley as a Wealth Advisor and First Vice President in 2009, Kent was a Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor at Merrill Lynch for 19 years, earning positions in the Executive Club, President’s Club and Chairman’s Club. Also, Kent has enjoyed teaching at the Hamilton Holt School at Rollins College and The University of Central Florida.

In his free time, he serves on the Board of Directors for Agua Viva Serves, responsible for 95 completed operating water wells impacting nearly 10,000 people in the Los Chile, Costa Rica. Kent is also an avid amateur mountain climber summiting three of the seven summits of the world.

Luis was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised on the east coast of PR. He moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 2010. His interest for finance began in high school and was stoked through avid market research. Specifically, he developed a passion for technical analysis, order flows, and options. Luis earned his A.S. in Business Administration and his B.A. in Business and Organizational Leadership. Luis previously worked for Charles Schwab as a broker on the retail line with a focus on exceptional customer service including account maintenance, trading, money movement, and other client requests. Lana Bull began her career as a registered representative in 2007 at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC and in 2010 joined Charles Schwab in Maitland, FL. She started with Morgan Stanley in 2018 as a Registered Service Associate and became a Client Service Associate in 2021. In 2024, she joined the Winter Park Group as a Senior Registered Client Service Associate. Her primary responsibility is to handle daily operational and administrative responsibilities. She holds both the Series 7 and 66 licenses.
Lana graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree Finance with a minor in Economics.
In her free time, Lana enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
