Robert and Kent are able to put the combination of a CFP©, CIMA© and CFA© designations together to implement a holistic service model that assists their clients with not only investments, but tax efficiency, asset allocation and risk management as well. The team approaches financial planning as a collaborative process to help maximize a Client’s potential for meeting life goals through smart financial advice that integrates relevant elements of the Client’s personal and financial circumstances. The process begins by developing a plan and then applying investment selection combined with asset allocation while consistently remaining tax aware with ongoing monitoring to ensure that a client’s plan is still aligned with their goals as cost effectively as possible. Finally, each portfolio manager sets themselves apart with their own portfolio structure developed and refined over many years.

With over thirty-four years of portfolio management experience and an extensive academic background, which includes an MBA and a Masters of Applied Economics, Kent manages each client’s portfolio using Modern Portfolio Theory, assessing risk and return ratios to match each client’s short and long term goals. Relying on historical economic cycles, his portfolios combine active and passive indexing strategies to focus on returns, as well as market risk. Kent developed his investment portfolio in 1994 and continues his portfolio strategies exactly the same today.

After helping Clients navigate the difficult 2001 Tech Bubble and the 2008 Financial Crisis the team began to consider other risk management strategies. Over the last 10 years Robert developed and refined a suite of quantitative tactical models designed to benefit from the dissimilar return streams of low or non-correlated beta factors. Each model is rules based with a systematic rebalance. The models are adaptive in nature by adjusting to different market conditions in composition, including the ability to move to cash in bear markets. Robert employs a direct indexing strategy that owns the underlying positions within the index or combination of indexes they follow which allows the opportunity to participate in individual stock growth, take advantage of dividends and tax efficiently manage gains / losses on an individual position basis.

The Winter Park Group has clients across the country and supports several philanthropic organizations. Outside of the office, the team enjoys taking some time off trekking and mountaineering together. For the team’s 20th anniversary, Robert and Kent took a trip to Tanzania, Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

About Robert Harvie

Robert has been a member of the financial services industry for over 25 years. As a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley, he offers a full suite of financial planning and investment services to individual clients, institutions, foundations and endowments. Lana Bull began her career as a registered representative in 2007 at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC and in 2010 joined Charles Schwab in Maitland, FL. She started with Morgan Stanley in 2018 as a Registered Service Associate and became a Client Service Associate in 2021. In 2024, she joined the Winter Park Group as a Senior Registered Client Service Associate. Her primary responsibility is to handle daily operational and administrative responsibilities. She holds both the Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Lana graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree Finance with a minor in Economics.
