Creating Your Plan

To be truly effective, your plan must reflect the totality of your personal and financial life. Our role is to help ensure that your investment objectives are consistent with your financial concerns and your long-term goals.

Our four step process was developed to help you achieve that goal:
    Icon Image
    1. Setting Your Financial Objectives
Through a process of discovery and discussion, we will work with you to articulate your wealth goals. Together, we will examine your current and future liabilities, income sources and cash flow needs, and then consider factors that might influence your overall strategy, including tolerance for risk, tax concerns, liquidity needs and time horizon. Through careful analysis, the team will look for potential gaps that may exist between your goals, and develop sound strategies to help clear the path.
    Icon Image
    2. Creating Your Strategy
Working from our understanding of you and your objectives, we will propose a financial plan that contains specific strategies designed to help meet those goals. Our advice may encompass issues such as retirement planning, business continuation, tax minimization potential and wealth transfer. You will also receive an asset allocation strategy designed to provide diversification for your portfolio.

    3. Implementing Your Strategy
After discussing and refining your strategy, we will work closely with you to bring the elements to life. Planning is a vital part of our process. Using tools to actively monitor your plans progress, making sure you are on track to meet your financial goals and objectives. If you prefer to invest in individual securities, we can help identify specific stocks, bonds and other securities that may be suitable for your portfolio. Whatever the approach may be, the team will help you keep your strategy on track.

    4. Reviewing Objectives & Performance
We view ongoing communications as the foundation of our successful collaboration with you. We will make every effort to stay aware of your changing financial needs and provide viable strategies to help you meet them. This means reviewing your portfolio together at your request when circumstances change, we will work with you to revise your strategy and reposition your assets to reflect your new needs and goals.

A Financial Plan Tailor-Made for You

Our wealth management process begins with you and your family. Holistic in our approach, we encompass all the elements of your financial life, your investments, your cash management needs and then align them with your goals for life.

We understand that the goals you set today will evolve over time. Your customized plan will evolve with it and the ever changing circumstances of your life.

Leveraging a sophisticated suite of analytic tools, as well as the extensive resources provided at Morgan Stanley, we can help you take charge of your financial future and achieve your goals. Meet The Whitmore Team

About Christopher R Whitmore

I am Christopher Whitmore, a financial advisor who has been working in the financial industry with Morgan Stanley since 2011. As a part of The Whitmore Team, I work with a variety of clients to draft and implement financial plans, as well as manage client investment portfolios. Specifically, my priority is for clients to feel heard and feel that I am their primary Financial Advisor, that seeks to help sustain their financial success as they work to build, utilize, preserve, and ultimately transfer their wealth onto the next generation where the cycle begins anew.

I attended Walsh College in Troy Michigan and obtained a BBA in Finance in 2015. I currently live and work in Farmington Hills, MI with my wife Emily, our 3 daughters (ages 14, 9 and 4), a 12-year-old beagle, and against my wishes, a cat.

Outside of work, I enjoy being actively engaged in my children’s activities, attending swim meets, and volunteer my time to coach youth soccer for the city in the spring and fall. My personal interests include watching sports (primarily Football and Soccer), playing video and board games, and can routinely be found camping in the summer months. I also enjoy supporting local charities at Morgan Stanley sponsored community service events and with other organizations such as Gleaners, Midnight Golf and Spaulding for Children.

About Jodi E Whitmore

I am Jodi Whitmore, Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley. In our practice, we focus on holistic wealth planning for individuals and families. I have been with Morgan Stanley for 18 years and have over 30 years of industry experience.

My original academic field of study was in Art History and Design which led me into this industry working in building management with a regional bank in the Eighties. I then had an opportunity to study further and transition to a Financial Advisor role in the early Nineties. My philosophy on investing is centered around managing your income through your retirement and generational wealth, helping you effectively pass the wealth you have accumulated on to future generations. In concert with that philosophy, The Whitmore Team at Morgan Stanley is a family practice where I work with and plan on eventually passing my business to my son Christopher.

Outside of my work I have many interests that include reading, community sourced agriculture and spending quality time with my granddaughters. I also periodically volunteer at local charities and recently completed the process of becoming a Master Rain Gardener.
