Our Process

Our wealth management process focuses on you and your family- where you are today and where you want to go. By clearly understanding your life goals, we will help to navigate the challenges and develop tailored strategies to achieve success in each area of focus.
Discovery
We begin with an in-depth conversation where we listen carefully to understand what is important to you, your family and your legacy. We learn about your attitudes and experience with money and investing, and the values that shape your decisions. We will clearly define your goals, both near and long term, as well as challenges and circumstances that may be unique to your personal situation.
The Wealth Organizer
Analysis and Recommendations
Next, we review your current financial situation and how it pertains to your defined goals. Depending on the complexity of your wealth, we utilize our Goals Planning System (GPS) Lifeview Advisor, and Wealth Strategies Analyses- a suite of comprehensive financial planning technology- to model an analysis of your financial goals. We will identify strengths and weaknesses of your current strategy. Based on this analysis and our prior evaluation of your current situation, we will develop a strategic asset allocation and investment strategy that is tailored to you. This analysis may also incorporate more complex risk management strategies as well as tax minimization and estate, trust and philanthropic solutions.
Lifeview Advisor Sample Plan
Plan Implementation
After we perform a deep analysis and arrive at an optimal asset allocation strategy that is based on your goals, we will tap into our Aladdin portfolio risk analytics technology to take a deeper dive into the investment portfolio. We will choose tax-smart investment products and strategies to meet your particular needs, while always being transparent about any risks associated with each. We will evaluate the ramifications of proposed changes to your overall portfolio using our tools, and project a timeline for completing these changes. We will then refine the implementation based on our discussions.
Video- Introducing the Aladdin Portfolio Risk Platform
Ongoing Monitoring, Service, and Review
We diligently oversee and review the performance of your plan through ongoing calls, videoconferencing and meetings- all based on a communication strategy that works for you. You are also able to track your plan and investment accounts through our online and mobile tools in real-time. We will continue to adjust your plan and investment portfolios based on changes in your life and also due to changing market conditions to keep you on track towards achieving your goals. Our success is defined by the ability for our clientele to meet their objectives.

Core Values
We are committed to the following core values that we believe differentiate us from other advisory teams and serve as the foundation of our practice.
Caring Relationships
We are dedicated to building deep relationships based on trust, transparency and integrity. We work with a select group of client families who value our depth of knowledge and experience in providing comprehensive solutions. We treat clients as an extension of our family-oriented team, and it is our hope that our relationships span generations.
Experience
In over 40 years of wealth advisory, our team has advised high net worth clientele through some of the most challenging market environments in history. Our group has also experienced virtually all of the preferences, challenges, and distinctions of wealthy investors throughout our existence, which makes us feel comfortable giving advice in any client situation. We believe this experience allows us to deliver a unique offering to our clientele- time tested methods along with fresh, new ideas in today's ever-changing complex world. We tap into one of the industry's leading analytical and digital tools for research and evaluation. We then combine that forward thinking with our own personal, experienced-based touch within each of our recommend strategies.
A Team Approach
We believe that you are entitled to the best advice possible. As a result, we work as a team on your behalf, often collaborating with the global resources provided to us at Morgan Stanley and across the industry. We also work closely with your accountant, attorneys, and other professionals to gain the precise knowledge needed to effectively manage all aspects of your wealth.
Transparency
It is critically important for you to understand what is happening with your wealth, and it is our responsibility to keep you informed. We believe in providing full transparency of process and pricing and utilize an "open architecture" platform when implementing investment strategy. We will always disclose any conflicts of interest that may exist in any facet of our relationship with you.
Education
Financial education helps provide comfort in our process and recommended strategies. We strive to continue to educate our clients on various aspects of the financial markets, products, and planning strategies as our relationships continue to evolve. We believe it is our responsibility to assist you and your family members in addressing financial challenges as wealth moves from one generation to the next, with education held paramount. 2When Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors (collectively, “Morgan Stanley”) provide “investment advice” regarding a retirement or welfare benefit plan account, an individual retirement account or a Coverdell education savings account (“Retirement Account”), Morgan Stanley is a “fiduciary” as those terms are defined under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended (“ERISA”), and/or the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (the “Code”), as applicable. When Morgan Stanley provides investment education, takes orders on an unsolicited basis or otherwise does not provide “investment advice”, Morgan Stanley will not be considered a “fiduciary” under ERISA and/or the Code. For more information regarding Morgan Stanley’s role with respect to a Retirement Account, please visit www.morganstanley.com/disclosures/dol. Tax laws are complex and subject to change. Morgan Stanley does not provide tax or legal advice. Individuals are encouraged to consult their tax and legal advisors (a) before establishing a Retirement Account, and (b) regarding any potential tax, ERISA and related consequences of any investments or other transactions made with respect to a Retirement Account. Individuals should consult their tax advisor for matters involving taxation and tax planning and their attorney for matters involving trust and estate planning, charitable giving, philanthropic planning and other legal matters.

6Participating in a new issue/syndicate is subject to availability. IPOs are highly speculative and may not be appropriate for all investors because they lack a stock-trading history and usually involve smaller and newer companies that tend to have limited operating histories, less-experienced management teams, and fewer products or customers. Also, the offering price of an IPO reflects a negotiated estimate as to the value of the company, which may bear little relationship to the trading price of the securities, and it is not uncommon for the closing price of the shares shortly after the IPO to be well above or below the offering price.
