Our process will help ease you into and smoothly through the financial planning steps. Once your plan is in place, we continue to discuss, review and adjust your plan as events in your life, the markets or the world change. By maintaining regular communication along with flexible plan design, these adjustments are simple to make and help ease unwanted surprise while increasing comfort.

There isn’t a big secret to proper financial planning. It starts with a conversation and requires good design. Listening to what is important to you is key. We have virtually unlimited tools to build out your plan. The skill is in knowing which tools combined together make the most appropriate plan for you. We will offer recommendations after listening to you and we will explain all the pros and cons with any investment tool before you begin anything. This is a process that we lead you through but that you are certainly a part of.

If you are new to the investment world, let’s start you out correctly with a strong cohesive plan. If you have already begun somewhere else, let us review what you have and simply give you a second opinion on what could be done. Please reach out to us, we’d love to help.

Our mission is to help clients make some of life's most critical choices and appropriate decisions for where they are and where they want to go. From saving for your dream retirement or planning for your child's future education expenses, together we will identify what matters most to you and ensure that your goals are achievable on your timeline.

Similar to a well-oiled machine, the "parts" of a financial plan either serve the strategy or they do not. We will diligently monitor your plan to take into account the changing circumstances of your life and the environment, managing risk at each step of the way.

Leveraging a sophisticated suite of analytical tools and decades of industry experience, our goal is for our clients to feel a sense of peace knowing that their financial plan is on track and in trusted hands.
1. Discover
We begin with an organic discovery process of uncovering you and your family's most pertinent values, personal and financial circumstances, and pressing concerns to determine how we can add value. We will explore the lifestyle you enjoy and hope to lead in the future, key relationships, and the legacy you would like to leave behind for those who matter most to you. Collecting this information will enable us to capture your complete financial picture.
2. Advise
Based on our initial conversation, we will develop a tailored and cohesive financial plan that balances your attitudes as an investor, risks and opportunities in your profile, and an analysis of the financial markets. With your input, we will then present appropriate investment options and wealth management recommendations that work in tandem to protect and grow your wealth.
3. Implement
Upon your approval, we will work diligently to ensure a seamless implementation of the various elements of your financial plan, finetuning each part to adjust for changing circumstances. Wherever appropriate, we will consult with other professional individuals in your trusted circle and suggest that you seek additional advice from subject matter experts on particularly complex issues.
4. Track Progress
We are committed to keeping you abreast of any changing market conditions and delivering performance metrics, ultimately making certain that your plan continues to align with your goals and your timeline. We will keep a high degree of communication with you to ensure that your concerns and requests are being addressed in a timely manner.

Sound Investing Principles vs. Human Nature

Tab Image
Have you heard the expression "buy low, sell high"? It applies to just about any investment, and savvy investors always look for opportunities where something seems to be selling for less than it's worth. So then why do investors sell off their investments when the market drops? Isn't that the perfect time to BUY, when prices are depressed (i.e., "buy low")? Doesn't it make more sense to either hold on to an investment during a market correction, or even buy stocks during a bull market?

It makes logical sense, and yet even sophisticated investors rush to dump their stocks when the market goes down. Why?

Because they are acting on emotion rather than logic. They fear, understandably, that the market will continue to drop and don't want to lose any more - even though they know that long term, that's the core principle behind a school of thought called Behavioral Investing.

We have studied the phenomenon of Behavioral Investing and applied it to our wealth management practice. One of the most important things we do for our clients is provide a logical, systematic response to changing conditions - we provide a guiding hand during the regular market volatility that is almost certain to occur during any long-range investment cycle.

Emotions are part of being human, and we all respond to them. However, we work with our clients to be sure that they don't make any investment decisions, or any other financial choice, based on emotions rather than logic.

Meet The Turnock Bonacci Group

About Kevin Turnock

I’m passionate about finance and the impacts professional planning can have in creating success long term. There is no aspect of money that isn’t important to consider. I have experience with all areas of finance. This experience has been earned with over 30 years in the industry. In the early 90’s, I started doing back office operations and working with Treasury investments at a small bank while attending night school in Tampa, Florida. The small nature of the bank allowed me to have wide ranging exposure to most areas of banking. This exposure to money operations expanded while I earned my undergraduate degree in both Finance and Economics at Florida State University. While in school there, I was also the student body Comptroller for several years and was a national award recipient of Academics in Economics.

Since 1994 I have been fully licensed and received my CFP (Certified Financial Planner designation) in 2004 while studying in the executive program at Georgetown University. I’ve also received the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) certification as well as numerous other internal accreditations that require focused learning on specialized areas of finance.

My belief is an open discussion about what is important to you as well as what may scare you, can allow us to better plan for you. One of the secrets I’ve learned over 30 years in practice, in and around finance, is that the power in financial planning is admitting we don’t know what is happening next (the next year/minute/second) but we can plan for the unknown. This is often overlooked. By checking our ego at the door and getting down to the business of “what if” we have the power to protect and secure successful achievement of your financial goals using proper planning and monitoring.

While experience is important and continuing education is paramount to add knowledge and skill, these traits may still take a backseat to compassion and listening. I’ve also found that hearing what you are saying and applying it to crafting your personal plan is yet another secret weapon in skillfully designing your plan for overall success. Our toolbox holds many financial options to utilize within a plan. Listening helps determine which of these may ultimately be most appropriate. I’m a people person and want to help. I feel fortunate to be in a position and at a firm that allows me to use the wide ranging tools, my experience and training to do just that.

Baseball is a new found passion by comparison. My son, Kasey, has loved the sport since he was a little boy and I’ve coached him every year since. I’m very lucky to share this passion with him and hope it will be a lifelong shared love. My daughter, Maggie, is full of joy for dance, singing and life. There is never a playground she doesn’t stop at or an animal she didn’t love. She is quick to share a story and will likely end up on Saturday Night Live with her comedic timing. My wife, Susan, is a business owner and constantly amazing us all with her talents and creative skills. Her business continues to grow and delight each year. Our family fell in love with Bernese Mountain Dogs and we have one named Molly who is both an angel and a devil at the same time.

About Anthony Bonacci

Finance is in my genes. My father and two brothers are also in the financial services industry, so money and market discussions have been the norm since I was young. As a result, the business of finance is almost second nature. I am fortunate to have a career in an industry that I am passionate about, and truly enjoy being able to share this passion with our clients.

My degree in Finance was received from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland – College Park. I also have my CRPC designation (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor) and have been in the industry since 2000. Prior to my securities licensing, I was a manager/originator at a mortgage company for several years. During this time I was able to gain knowledge and experience in other aspects of the industry that are useful today with clients. With Morgan Stanley making just about any financial tool available, and the experience on how to use them, the real key is to focus directly on client needs. By listening, probing for information and understanding what the “want” is, I am able to combine the tools into an appropriate allocation within the overall financial plan to help reach those wants or goals. This is one of the things that sets me and my team apart from the rest.

I’m a local. I was born and raised in Annapolis. I graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis and my three children are students in the St. Mary’s schools as well. We love the water and spend as much time on it as possible. My two youngest (Anna and Luca) are avid hockey and lacrosse players while my oldest (Finley) is currently racing sailboats (420s). They all enjoy a day fishing with me if they aren’t buried in a book. My wife Anja also works locally in the aviation industry, and used to be a commercial airline pilot. We have two Labrador Retrievers (Cerrisi and Marlin) who go just about everywhere we do.

About Michael Norris

I’ve always been driven by loyalty. One of my strongest held beliefs is that if you truly care about something – down to your core – that you will pursue it with impassioned energy and will be true to its cause totally. This was the case when I joined the United States Marine Corps in 1991 when Desert Storm started. I’ve always believed in the greatness of our country. During my time in the service I was able to visit more countries than I’d been to states at home. I’ve been lucky enough to see the U.S. more extensively since but those experiences helped forge me and allow me to have a broader perspective of situations today.

My time in The Marines was invaluable and I find I use parts of that experience every day. In early 2006 I joined Morgan Stanley. Quickly, I found I had an affinity toward helping people and enjoyed taking sometimes complex information and simplifying it for them. I’ve gotten fully licensed and continue to study and learn constantly. The Portfolio Associate Certification is my current endeavor.

Family is everything to me. My daughter Amber has gifted us a grandson, Abel. My two sons, Michael and Matthew are growing like weeds and bring constant joy, amazement and adventure to us as they continue their journey to manhood. My wife, Jeanine, shares my passion for helping people and she too is in the industry with me. This unique tag team allows us to bring added knowledge to the table as we are fully immersed in finance together constantly. We love American Bulldogs and Mocha is our newest family member. I’m still playing competitive softball and hope to continue doing so as long as my legs will allow. Golf is also a hobby of mine even as I find it hard to spend the time to get good at it with everything else that fills my life. Happily, this gives me another goal to look forward to whenever retirement arrives.

2Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
