Meet The Trinity Group

About Doug Carter

As a Series 7 and Series 66 licensed investment professional since 1999, Doug is the founding member of the Trinity Group at Morgan Stanley.  Through many market cycles he has worked closely with clients to develop the right investment strategy.   After working with the team to create an optimal financial strategy, he assists clients in incorporating multi-generational wealth management and estate planning strategies.

Doug started the Trinity Group at Morgan Stanley after recruiting his twin brother, David, into the business in 2006.  The team has now grown to include six members, creating a top-level group with 140 years of financial industry experience between them.  It is with this knowledge and diversity that provides clients with an exceptional and comprehensive financial experience.

Doug is married to his wife, Kelley, and they have three children. He lives primarily in Redding but also often spends time on the Northern California coast, where they have a residence in the coastal community of Arcata. While staying oceanside, Doug maintains an office in the Morgan Stanley Eureka, CA branch.

About David Carter

David has been a wealth advisor since 2007 after spending 10 years in corporate business in the SF Bay Area.  As part of the team’s investment committee, David develops portfolio strategies and focuses on equity research, asset allocation, and income structures.  His varied background in business, analytics, and finance enables David to help develop customized investment proposals to fit a client’s financial objectives.

A 5th generation resident of Northern California, David lives in Redding with his wife, Angie, and two children.  His parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents all had close ties to the local community through careers in law and education.  Continuing this community relationship, David believes that it is this connection that produces a passion for helping families make the right financial choices.

David enjoys spending time in the outdoors and away from work can often be found hiking, biking, fishing, and gardening.  His ideal day is sharing those pursuits with his wife and children.

About Jerald Sax

Jerry has been an investment professional in the financial industry since 1992 with a background in investments, banking, and finance management.  Jerry’s practice at Morgan Stanley focuses on asset management and financial planning for individuals and businesses.  He works with clients to preserve and grow their wealth through investment strategies which include discretionary portfolio management, as well as integrated wealth and investment planning.  As a Morgan Stanley licensed Senior Portfolio Manager, Jerry helps develop customized investment models designed to meet the financial objectives of the Trinity Group’s clients.

Jerry holds a General Securities License (Series 6 and 7), an Investment Advisor license (Series 63 and 66), and a California Insurance License #0A98958.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at California State University, Chico and a Portfolio Manager designation through Morgan Stanley.

A 28 year resident of Northern California, Jerry resides in Redding with his wife. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid baseball fan.  His hobbies include hunting and fishing and rarely does a weekend go by without finding him exploring the rivers, lakes, and woods the Northstate has to offer.

About Maria Whittle

With 33 years of experience in the financial services industry, Maria has multifaceted duties which comprise coordinating and managing the daily and ad hoc administrative and operational tasks for the Trinity Group.   She is responsible for implementing business management systems and providing excellent customer service to clients.  Utilizing her attention to detail, she provides operational support to team members and assists clients on a daily basis. 

Maria continues to be active in her community through neighborhood programs which she feels enhances communication and friendships. In her free time Maria enjoys being with her family and likes hiking, camping, and reading, as well as a passion for traveling.  Maria lives in Redding with her husband of 25 years, Jim, and their daughter, Bella.
