Who We Are

In today's fast-paced world, many investors -- especially those with substantial assets -- confront a host of complex issues including tax planning, risk management, credit needs, investment management, estate planning and charitable giving. Under these circumstances, balancing the needs of family, finances and career while finding time for personal interests has become increasingly difficult.

Faced with these considerable challenges, many high net worth families wonder if their broad wealth planning needs are being adequately addressed by their current array of specialized lawyers, accountants and brokers. Even when these individual spheres are well-managed, these families may wonder how well these distinct components of their strategy are working together to achieve financial and life objectives. In many cases, wealthy families determine it is in their best interest to integrate these siloed pieces to ensure they work smoothly and complementarily to achieve their overall goals.

Disentangling and managing these numerous yet related needs can oftentimes be overwhelming. To deal with these concerns, some families are turning to a wealth consultant such as The Summit Group. Using institutional strategies to protect and manage assets, sophisticated wealth transfer techniques and other advanced wealth planning methods, we offer our clients assurance that the various areas of their families' financial lives are working together harmoniously. By creating and executing a comprehensive wealth plan that addresses all of our clients' complex needs, we give families the increased comfort to focus on the things that matter most to them.

The Summit Group Advantage
We utilize a similar money-management and investment-selection approach as managers of institutional wealth by emphasizing precise asset allocation, fuller diversification (e.g. evaluating investment overlap) and careful manager selection. This tactical approach seeks to determine where market and economic conditions are headed -- not merely where they have been -- and to invest accordingly.
Choosing the Right Managers
Our rigorous proprietary screening process helps select the best available managers for your assets. Unlike many other advisors, we do not generally select individual securities. Our focus is helping you develop an appropriate asset allocation for your unique goals, and choosing the most skilled professional outside money managers in each asset class to help you achieve them.
Managing Risk
We want to enable you to accomplish your goals by generating the greatest possible return with the least amount of risk. We measure risk through a variety of quantitative techniques common among institutional asset managers -- for example: alpha, beta, standard deviation and upside / downside capture. These risk measures can help you put your portfolio's performance in the right context, and are vital tools as we seek to allocate your assets within your risk parameters.
