Our Story

The Stanley Group focuses on investment management for high net worth families, foundations, endowments, and retirement plans. Our experienced team of six is led by veteran George C. Stanley, CFP® and his two sons Cullen and Walter. All three hold MBA degrees and total over 65 years of experience in the financial industry. Our team strives to deliver the strengths and services of nationally recognized Morgan Stanley to our clients at the local level.

Morgan Stanley has created the Corporate Retirement Director designation to identify Financial Advisors within our firm who focus on retirement plans. George Stanley has attained the Corporate Retirement Director designation. Qualification for this title is based on both experience and professional designations. Our clients depend on us to stay informed and apprised of industry trends and product developments. The firm conducts an annual training conference dedicated solely to Corporate Retirement Directors.

About George C Stanley, MBA

George C. Stanley is a seventh generation Evansville, IN native. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1978 and earned a MBA from the University of Portland in 1980. George began his career with Smith Barney Harris Upham (now Morgan Stanley) in February 1980. He maintains professional designations of Certified Financial Planner, CFP® and Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist, CRPS®. George is currently a Senior Vice President and Corporate Retirement Director representing Morgan Stanley.

George and his wife Teresa reside in Newburgh, IN. George is a past board member of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and the Harlaxton Society of the University of Evansville. He enjoys travel, tennis, and golf. His greatest pleasure is working with his two sons and team members of The Stanley Group.

About Cullen Stanley, MBA

Cullen Stanley joined The Stanley Group in 2010. Cullen earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in 2006 and an MBA from Stetson University in 2008. Cullen was the assistant to the Athletic Director at Stetson University while earning his MBA degree. In 2008, he joined the Orlando Magic NBA Basketball Franchise working in group and preferred ticket sales. While working with the Magic, Cullen met his wife Tara.

As a member of The Stanley Group, Cullen holds the professional designation of Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS). His responsibilities include maintaining corporate and individual client relationships. Cullen has experience working with corporate pension, 401(k), and executive deferred compensation plans. He also presents financial planning and investment services to our individual clients.

Cullen is an active volunteer in the community. He was the past President of the Rotary Club of Evansville and past President of the Reitz Home Museum. Cullen also served two terms on the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science Board of Directors. He currently serves as Board Development Chair for the Evansville Zoological Society. He and his wife Tara reside in Evansville, IN with their three children, Luke, Paul, and Myla.

About Walter Stanley, MBA

Walter Stanley earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in 2009 and a MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2014. Walter started his career with Old National Bank, holding positions in retail banking and commercial credit.

Walter joined the Indianapolis, IN branch office of Morgan Stanley in 2013. As a Wealth Advisory Associate, his responsibilities included preparing financial plans for high net worth clients of the top twenty advisors throughout the state. He gained valuable experience presenting financial plans to clients with varying financial objectives and family circumstances.

In 2014, Walter joined The Stanley Group in his hometown of Evansville. Walter holds the professional designation of Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS®), maintains the Morgan Stanley designation of Financial Planning Specialist, and is responsible for The Stanley Group’s initiative to provide comprehensive financial planning to all clients. Walter currently serves on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of SW Indiana, is the former Treasurer of the University of Evansville Theatre Society and a founding member of the Ted & Clare Ziemer Society of St. Vincent Hospital of Evansville. Walter and his wife Lori reside in Newburgh, IN with their son Parker and two mini-golden doodles.

About Chelsea Rexing

Chelsea started with Morgan Stanley in 2012 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Evansville in 2010. Chelsea holds her Series 7 and Series 66 investment licenses. Her role is to participate in the overall business development of clientele by developing customized asset allocation proposals, designing tailored reporting for new and existing clients, and creating and executing marketing strategies to attract new clients. Chelsea and her husband Lee have triplet boys Charlie, Hank, and Lyle and a daughter Lucy and reside in Haubstadt, IN.

Kimberly is a Private Banker serving Morgan Stanley Wealth Management offices in Indiana.

Private Bankers partner with Financial Advisors to develop a specialized approach for managing clients’ cash flow, liquidity and financing needs, leveraging our comprehensive suite of cash management and lending solutions.

Kimberly began her career in financial services in 1996 and joined Morgan Stanley in 2016. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Wealth Management Banker at Merrill Lynch. She also served as an Investment Relationship Manager with Key Investment Services and a Financial Advisor at Thrivent Financial.

Kimberly is a graduate of Wright State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Outside of the office, Kimberly spends time with her family enjoying hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities.

About Mamta Shah

Mamta Shah is the Trust Specialist based in Chicago, covering the Midwest Region. Morgan Stanley provides a full array of personal and institutional trust services to high net worth clients of the firm. Mamta’s responsibilities include educating Financial Advisors and their clients on the open architecture trust service model and helping them identify opportunities to leverage the trust partners on the platform.

Before joining Trust Services in 2010, she was the Wealth Analyst with the Chicago based Wealth Planning Center at Morgan Stanley. Mamta was responsible for providing information and education on a full range of income and estate tax topics and concerns.

Prior to joining the Planning Center team in 2006, Mamta was Vice President of an Independent Investment Advisory Firm. She worked closely with the clients of the firm on a variety of financial planning and investment advisory services.

Mamta obtained her bachelor’s degree from Babson College with a major in Finance/Entrepreneurship. Mamta is a licensed CPA and holds a CFP® designation, She has been in the financial services industry since 1999. She is Series 7, 63, 65 and life/health insurance licensed.
