About Me
David Smith rejoined Morgan Stanley in 2025, bringing with him over four decades of experience as a Financial Advisor. His career began at Morgan Stanley in 1983, where he spent 25 years honing his skills before moving his team to UBS. Now back at Morgan Stanley, David leverages his extensive experience to guide clients through the complexities of financial markets. He has successfully navigated clients through significant market events, including the crashes of 1987 and 2008, the bull market of the 1990s, and the tech bubble of 2000. His ability to provide calm counsel and strategic thinking has been crucial in helping clients maintain focus on their long-term goals, even amidst economic uncertainty and evolving tax policies across five Presidential administrations.
David is committed to continuous learning and professional development. He has completed Wealth Advisor training at the prestigious Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. His academic foundation in finance was established with a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
Beyond his professional achievements, David is deeply committed to his community. In 1996, he founded a holiday giving program in collaboration with local Chicago schools, which provides clothes and toys to hundreds of families in need each year. David and his wife, Julie, reside in Flossmoor, where they have raised their three children.
