Who We Serve

    Icon Image
    Affluent Families
The financial concerns that are most important to affluent families often fall outside the traditional bounds of a brokerage relationship. You may seek to transfer a family business to the next generation, create an estate plan to minimize the potential for sibling conflict, or refine your philanthropic goals and strategies. Addressing these concerns requires specialized knowledge, experience and commitment.

Andrew Silverman is among an exclusive group of Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors who have earned the Family Wealth Advisor designation. He has accumulated the necessary experience and undergone rigorous training to better assist you and your family with a broader spectrum of wealth management issues.

    Athletes & Entertainers
As a professional athlete or entertainer, you have very specific investment needs that require a rather complex understanding of your financial challenges. Your peak earning years often come at a young age, and your career path can be difficult to predict. Pay schedules may be seasonal and vary from year to year. And it can be a struggle to maintain a comfortable lifestyle while also laying the financial foundation for an extended retirement.

We help you make smart choices about how you save, spend, invest, borrow, protect and give during your career so you can maintain a comfortable living during your retirement and fulfill your philanthropic objectives to your family and your community.

We’re not new to this business. We’ve been helping professional athletes and entertainers and their families for more than two decades and we have the knowledge it takes to deliver the outcomes you want.
    Icon Image
    Business Owners
Successful business owners are visionaries. You are constantly thinking about how your business will prosper, who you should hire, where you want to expand and what your financing needs are. This leaves you little time for your personal financial concerns.

Managing the financial needs of your business while also considering your personal wealth objectives can be a balancing act. Our team assumes responsibility for those concerns, navigating complex situations and offering planning-based solutions. Often these solutions involve bringing in experts both within the firm and external; and they may have to deal with seemingly tangential issues faced by family members.

We also work with your outside advisors – your attorney, accountant and others – to ensure that your strategy encompasses both your business and personal objectives.

Our approach to integrating your business and personal financial needs is comprehensive but flexible. We start with whatever is keeping you up at night, then tackle other priorities until every piece of your financial life is connected and cared for.

    Divorce & Your Finances
Every decision that you’re asked to make during the divorce process can seem to have the potential for life changing impact. But, although divorce can be stressful, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

With a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® on our team, we can help you to understand the financial issues in clear terms so you make smart decisions about your financial future.

Along with your attorney and your accountant, we can provide the financial guidance necessary to help you understand key issues, develop creative settlement solutions, and evaluate the short and long-term financial impact the settlement will have on you.

Once your divorce is complete, we can explore your new goals together. Chances are, your lifestyle will change a bit. But, you’ll find reassurance in the financial planning process as we strategize about budgeting, retirement planning, and asset preservation and insurance.

No matter where you are in your divorce process, we can provide the financial guidance for your needs today and your plans for tomorrow.

We are often consulted by attorneys and accountants to provide specific financial analysis that supplements an attorney’s legal efforts on behalf of divorcing clients.

With a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® on the team, we assist attorneys in compiling and evaluating the often vast and detailed financial information inherent to divorce. We’ll review all documents, statements and records to corroborate every budget expense. The tasks we can deliver include lifestyle analysis, preparation of financial reports, and projections.

Meet The Silverman Group

About Andrew Silverman

For two decades, I have provided customized investment strategies for a select clientele that includes affluent individuals and their families, business owners, athletes and entertainers looking to manage, grow preserve and transition their wealth.

I have earned significant industry credentials that set me apart from others in the industry. As a Family Wealth Advisor, I have demonstrated a sophisticated approach to the management of significant wealth on behalf of families, their philanthropic goals and their family enterprises. As a Global Sports and Entertainment Director, I work directly with professional athletes and entertainers, as well as working hand in hand with their inner circle. I achieved the status of Wealth Advisor through significant training on the complex issues facing high net worth families around portfolio planning, construction and strategies. And, as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, I have extensive knowledge of tax law, financial planning, and divorce-related asset distribution.

I am a native of New Jersey and graduated from Penn State University in 1998 with a major in finance and economics and an emphasis on business logistics. Upon graduation, I joined Merrill Lynch and then moved to Morgan Stanley in 2006. I am a current board member and Treasurer of The NephCure Kidney International Foundation, a former board member of The Daughters of Miriam Nursing Facility and a past president of the executive board of Preakness Hills Country Club

About Joseph Silverman

For more than four decades, I have applied my extensive knowledge and experience to helping affluent clients reach their financial goals. I am firmly committed to long-term relationships and I strive to deliver a high level of client service. With 40 years of experience, I bring a broad perspective on investment strategies. The wealth management strategies I implement focus on equities, fixed income instruments and managed money platforms.

I began my career in financial services in 1968, when I joined Harris Upham (which was acquired by Smith Barney). I moved to EF Hutton in 1970 and spent a decade there before joining Merrill Lynch in 1981. I moved to Morgan Stanley in 2006.

These days, I split my time between Wayne, NJ and Florida. I was a board member of the North Jersey Jewish Federation and of the Preakness Hills Country Club. But, perhaps most importantly, after more than 40 years, I still can’t wait for the markets to open each day.
