Alternatives and how they can help your portfolio

Overview:

At the Sagamore Group, we utilize the Morgan Stanley Investment Management platform to help our clients best achieve their goals. As a leading provider of alternative investment strategies with expertise that spans across private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure and managed futures markets there is an individually tailored solution for each client’s unique needs. We are dedicated to serving the needs of our clients by delivering exceptional portfolios and custom alternative investment programs.

Philosophy:

Our alternative investments teams pursue a broad range of strategies in diverse markets and geographies, yet they share a common perspective on value creation meant to deliver improved risk-adjusted portfolio returns. Over the long term, the best means to deliver attractive, uncorrelated returns is to focus on segments where specialized expertise and a partnership approach is rewarded; structural dislocation, capital supply/demand imbalances and complexity prevail; and Morgan Stanley's resources and reputation provide unique sourcing, information and value-creation advantages. The use of alternative investments is a critical part of the Sagamore Group’s differentiated portfolio composition process and we look forward to exploring the solution that fits best for your individual needs.

Why Your Corporate Retirement Plan Needs a Financial Advisor

You are providing your employees with one of the critical cornerstones of financial wellness. You are also enhancing your ability to retain your current employees and making your company more attractive to prospective ones. However, if you’re like many plan sponsors, the prospect of overseeing a complex retirement program and the investment options with the plan may seem overwhelming. Thankfully, there is help.

One of our Financial Advisors, Kevin Foord, retains the Corporate Retirement Director designation from our firm. Our goal is to help you provide the best plan to meet your business’s specific needs at a competitive cost without sacrificing service or value. I do this through benchmarking the plan platform; increasing administrative efficiencies; assisting with investment selection and monitoring; keeping you informed on changes in ERISA regulation and current best practices; and continuing plan management and engagement. Working with you to provide a competitive benefit, and communicating that value to your employees, are the critical components of sponsoring a successful retirement plan.

We would welcome a conversation about your plan today. Please click on the “Contact Us” button at the top of our website to set up time. In the meantime, see the resources below on how we can help.

1Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
