      About Me

      Carol Richards has been a highly seasoned financial advisor for more than 25 years, and since 2014, a Five Star Wealth Manager as seen in New York Magazine.  With the breadth of her experience as an educator and counselor, she has effectively been helping guide her clients in achieving their financial goals.  Her all-inclusive approach comprises a candid and detailed planning process and a commitment to providing outstanding service with passion and integrity.

      Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 1991, Carol had successful careers in education, publishing and fixed-income investments. The opportunity to transition to financial planning allowed her to utilize her diverse skills to educate clients on how best to implement important financial strategies. Carol continues to employ a highly disciplined yet comfortable process in which she poses important questions to lay the foundation for a plan that reflects her clients’ goals. One of her most important strengths is that she is a strong advocate for her clients, helping them make vital decisions necessary to maintain their current lifestyle. Should the need arise, Carol leverages the global resources of Morgan Stanley to identify and deliver expertise when necessary.

      Carol is diligent about maintaining her product knowledge and, by her own admission, is a lifelong student. She received her BBA from Adelphi University and her Masters in Guidance and Administration from New York University.  She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), the recognized standard of excellence for personal financial planning.  In addition, she is an Accredited Domestic Partnership AdvisorSM (one of 33 in New York State and 541 in the U.S. as of October 2016) and an active member of The Women Presidents’ Organization, The Union League Club and The Doubles Club. In her free time, Carol enjoys ballroom dancing, travel to all locations where her children and grandchildren can be found, Broadway shows and keeping up with museum activity.

      While earning his BBA at Baruch College, Jonathan began working with Carol as an intern. It was this experience that confirmed his desire to work in the financial services industry. Upon graduation, he joined Carol full time and has been a vital member of her team ever since.

      Throughout his career, Jonathan has been committed to ongoing professional development. This enables him to remain at the forefront of the latest and most effective wealth management strategies to help create a better client experience.  Jonathan received his Master’s degree in Public Administration from Baruch College and his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation, the recognized standard of excellence for personal financial planning.

      Drawing on more than 12 years of industry experience, Katie is a Portfolio Associate with The Richards Group at Morgan Stanley. Katie engages with clients, management, advisors and advisory professionals to help identify potential investment opportunities and assist with the formulation and implementation of strategic initiatives to help meet specific client needs.  Katie has served in a variety of business development and leadership roles and dedicates herself to providing clients with investment confidence.

      Katie’s experience in the financial services industry has given her the knowledge regarding comprehensive financial plans, investment manager selection, portfolio analysis, and sound investment strategies that reflect the personal and financial objectives of each individual, family or institution.  Katie is committed to building long-term relationships with clients as well as consistently delivering an exceptional client experience.

      Katie received her MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University with a specialization in Finance and a dual BA degree from the University of Michigan in Organizational Studies and Communications.  Katie also holds FINRA Series 7 and 65 licenses. Hailing from Westchester County, Katie now resides in Manhattan. She is an active member of the University of Michigan Alumni Association and enjoys volunteering with the American Heart Association. Favorite leisure activities include CrossFit, tennis and spending time with family and friends.
