    Investment Philosophy

Just as no two people are alike, so should your investment portfolio reflect your personal values and objectives.

Our personalized Portfolio Management program is based on the techniques used for decades by institutional investors. Your Financial Advisors at Morgan Stanley have been qualified by the firm to independently manage client assets based on years of training, experience and our commitment to service.

Both Claudia Hansen and Brian Rayfield have achieved the credentials and experience to offer fully customized investment portfolios which consider each client’s personal financial goals and their preferences for risk and return.

The portfolios that we customize for each client are designed to:

    • Deliver smooth, consistent, risk adjusted investment returns
    • Maintain an eye on capital preservation
    • Anticipate market movement and adjust asset allocation
    • Apply skilled management

      Retirement

For more than two decades, we’ve built personal investment portfolios to reflect the unique choices our clients make as they move to and through retirement.

As a Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM, Claudia Hansen has helped hundreds of clients prepare for and navigate with confidence through the three distinct stages of retirement:

      • Growing your wealth to fund your future goals
      • Ensuring a smooth transition to retirement
      • Maintaining your chosen lifestyle throughout your life

As a Certified Investment Management Analyst, Brian Rayfield has gained an in depth understanding of the financial needs of wealthy individuals and the complex interaction of various financial instruments.  The result of this knowledge is the ability to build and evaluate complex portfolios.

Together, we answer questions that may seem daunting:

      • Do I have enough to cover my needs, my dreams and the unexpected?
      • How do the choices I make today affect the people I care about tomorrow?
      • How can I monitor my retirement assets through rapidly changing market conditions and opportunities?
      • Most importantly, how do I avoid any major financial “blow ups” that will impact my retirement dreams and choices?

We help our clients make informed investment decisions before and during retirement to help them achieve the retirement they envision.

        Financial Education

We believe passionately in the power of financial education to:

        • Empower you with the financial skills that are necessary to create and manage your wealth
        • Discover the mindset and belief systems of the most influential leaders
        • Create your personal action plan and a road-map for gaining greater power over your wealth

Our professional credentials demonstrate a deep level of knowledge and our ongoing commitment to best practices and lifelong learning.

CIMA® (Certified Investment Management Analyst) (Brian Rayfield) – The CIMA® certification is designed specifically for financial professionals who serve as advanced investment consultants to high net worth families and institutional investors.

CRPC® (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor) (Claudia Hansen) – Individuals who hold the CRPC® designation have completed a course of study encompassing pre- and post-retirement needs, asset management, estate planning strategies and the entire retirement planning process using models and techniques from real client situations.

Portfolio Manager (Brian Rayfield, Claudia Hansen) – This designation allows a select group of Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors to offer portfolio management services directly to their clients, rather than delegating that responsibility to third-party portfolio managers.

Clients should consult their tax advisor for matters involving taxation and tax planning and their attorney for legal matters.

2The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria.

4Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
