About Michael Zoskey

Michael Zoskey is a Vice President and Financial Advisor with The QUAD Capitas Group at Morgan Stanley. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2018, Mike spent several years at Cambridge Associates where he worked with large, sophisticated institutional investors. After a few years of working with institutions, Mike wanted to apply this approach and skill set to individuals. Thus, he moved to Morgan Stanley and began managing the assets of families across multiple generations.

Mike understands that his clients’ financial objectives frequently extend beyond their own lifetimes, so he takes a multi-generational approach to his advice and portfolio construction. Rather than a traditional portfolio with time horizons based on a single person’s life, Mike takes a more long-term focused, dynamic approach and constructs his clients’ portfolios to resemble those of an endowment or foundation. Mike especially enjoys the early stages of a new client relationship where there is great emphasis on the financial planning process and education about a large variety investment vehicles.

A graduate of James Madison University, Mike currently resides in Leesburg, VA with his wife and two daughters. Mike has experience on the Board for the Foundation of The Arc of Northern Virginia, where he assisted with the management of pooled trust services and foundation assets. He is also an avid golfer and plays in many tournaments. When not on a golf course, Mike enjoys fishing, camping, and hiking.

7Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice.
