Our Process:

A quality financial plan is designed to help guide increasing the quality of your life by reducing the unknown of future needs and resources. Financial planning directs the process of managing your money and your personal economy. We all make lots of decisions daily, some are short term in nature and others are long term, which may have unintended negative consequences. Our planning process is dynamic and on-going to adjust and adapt to changes in your needs, goals or circumstances that will occur over time. On-going interactive communication is essential.

    Step 1- Understanding You

    This is a critical step to establishing a relationship with you. We want to understand what you value in an advisor client relationship. Then we will spend time understanding your current financial situations and your financial goals.

    Icon Image
    Step 2- Your Goals

    The purpose of this step is to determine your needs and wants. Your goals can range from funding college, having enough for retirement, transfer of wealth, buying a home or developing an investment program to increase financial security.

    Icon Image
    Step 3- Implementation

    In this step, we will implement the plan but first we will understand your time frame, your risk tolerance and we will provide the recommendation for the plan. Furthermore, we will provide clear communication and expectations for the plan.

    Icon Image
    Step 4 – Ongoing Review

    We believe that financial planning is living and breathing process. Your goals and financial situation may change. We want to be tactical by reviewing your plan on a timely basis to account for this and make adjustments where necessary.

    Family Governance and Wealth Education

    The most difficult wealth planning challenge many ultra-high net worth families face is not the management of their financial capital, but the management of their human capital. By helping you articulate and preserve your deeply held values, we enable you to maximize the value of your human capital and create an enduring family legacy.

    Multigenerational & Estate Planning Strategies

    When the time comes, you may want to transfer your assets to your loved ones. It can be difficult to decide which financial products are right for you, based on your unique financial needs and risk tolerance. It can be even more difficult to ensure that these policies are updated to incorporate major changes in your family, such as: children, marriage, death, and divorce.

    Financial Planning

    We utilize a variety of planning-related tools—including our award-winning LifeView—which enable us to provide a single, comprehensive snapshot of your finances and adapt a wealth plan to your ever-changing life demands and modify goals as needed.

    Education for the Next Generation

    One of the chief concerns with growing families is planning their children's educational future. Deciding which investment vehicle will best set your child up for success decades in the future can be difficult
    and incredibly detail oriented. We make it our job to learn our client's needs and implement personalized strategies. In addition, we frequently help teach our client's children and grandchildren about personal finance as they become young adults.

    Charitable Giving & Philanthropy

    We want to help you achieve your financial goals in a manner consistent with your values and ideals. While making investments with impact can seem daunting, there are several ways to implement investments that can benefit you and the world around you:

    • Use of appreciated securities or qualified donations to maximize income tax benefits;
    • Donor Advised Funds are among one of the easiest and tax advantaged ways to give to charity for donors across the spectrum of wealth;
    • Charitable Income or Remainder Trusts aim to diversify asset holdings, potentially defer taxes on capital gains while benefiting charity.

    Business Succession Planning

    Are you selling your business? Do you plan to keep it within the family? Or, are you considering the sale of your business or going public? We can help you plan for and manage the tax consequences.

    Your family business is just as important as family itself. It's important to ask these questions and plan accordingly to your unique needs. Let's work together to help ensure you're prepared for any potential changes to the business environment and equip your successors to seamlessly transition into their future roles.

    Life Insurance

    Life insurance may be a powerful tool for investors when applied in context of other strategic decisions. It's prudent for investors to consider life insurance with their overall wealth and trust, tax, and estate plans so that the features of life insurance may be complementary to other decisions taken. The PW Wealth Management Group is positioned to review your existing policies to make sure they still meet your needs, and if needed, help you select the right type of policy for your situation. We will then reliably and effectively manage your life insurance as market and personal conditions change.

    1. Legacy Planning and Intergenerational Wealth Transfer: Intergenerational wealth transfers may reduce or eliminate estate taxes by not only getting assets out of the first generation's future estate through gifting, but also by funding the purchase of life insurance to provide a death benefit to pay estate taxes, if any. It is critical for the insurance policy to be excluded from the estate so that the death benefit will not be included in the first generation's estate and therefore will not be subject to estate tax.
    2. Estate Equalization: Estate equalization using life insurance may be appropriate solution for many situations, For example:
    • Blended families: using a life insurance policy to provide for children of a prior marriage to ensure that those children are not disinherited or don't have to wait for the surviving step-parent to pass in order to receive their inheritance.
    • Heirs to the family business: when one child runs the family business that compromises the majority of the parents' estates and the other children are not active in the business
      and have no interest in participating. Life insurance can be used to benefit the children not interested in the business, freeing the other child to run the business unencumbered financially and without having disinterested partners to answer to.
