Mike has over 25 years of investment experience working with institutional clients, as well as high net worth individuals and families.  Prior to founding The JMP Group at Morgan Stanley in 2005, Mike was a portfolio manager with Frye-Louis Capital Management for seven years.  There he managed large-cap equity and high quality bond portfolios as a part of overall investment plans for multi-generational families.  Prior to Frye-Louis, Mike worked at Fiduciary Management Associates as an Institutional Portfolio Manager and as a Research Analyst at Phoenix Duff & Phelps and Stein Roe and Farnham.  Mike received his Master of Business Administration from DePaul University and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago and the CFA Institute.  Mike is a volunteer tutor/mentor to Chicago Public School students through Working In The Schools (WITS).   Mike lives in Wilmette, Illinois and has three children.  He enjoys golf, baseball, and gardening.
