Meet The Placentino Group

About Lori Placentino

With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Lori is a seasoned and deeply dedicated financial advisor who brings unmatched drive, discipline, and heart to her practice. She began her journey in wealth management in 1998, and from the start, it became more than a career - it became a calling. The more she learned about financial planning, the more she fell in love with helping others create security, build wealth, and leave meaningful legacies.

Growing up during a time of financial strain instilled in Lori a sense of deep responsibility toward others. Her life experiences shaped her into someone who naturally shoulders the weight of care, guidance, and protection for those around her - whether it's her clients, her foster children, or the many families she mentors and supports. Her clients describe her as fiercely trustworthy and insightful not only in managing the financial aspects of planning but also in helping navigate the emotional and mental challenges that often accompany major decisions.

Lori's approach is highly regimented and process-driven, yet fully centered around open dialogue. She believes in starting each client relationship with transparency, education, and mutual understanding. She takes her role as an educator seriously, ensuring her clients are empowered to make informed choices and prepared to handle whatever life brings.

Before joining Morgan Stanley, Lori built an extensive career anchored in client advocacy, strategic planning, and holistic advising. She holds her Series 7, 65, and 66 licenses and continually deepens her expertise to service individuals and families at every stage of life.

Beyond the office, Lori is a passionate advocate for children, especially those in foster care. A long-time foster mom, she remains closely connected with many of the children she's helped raise, offering ongoing mentorship and support. She is an active voice in the foster care community, dedicating time and energy to improving outcomes for vulnerable youth. Lori has also coached youth sports including soccer, softball, and baseball, and is currently raising two toddlers of her own while her eldest daughter is currently attending JMU.

Lori loves traveling with her family and makes it a priority to check off at least one "bucket list" experience each year. Whether she's cheering from the sidelines or building wealth strategies in the boardroom, Lori's passion lies in creating strong, supported futures for the people she cares about.

About Bob Robustelli

What makes me passionate about being a Financial Advisor is that I really enjoy the entire process. From getting to know a client, implementing a plan and the ongoing service. It’s such an ongoing process that there is always something new to learn about your clients and how much you can help make a difference.

When I was in college my grandmother passed away and left my siblings and I some inheritance funds. My mother took us to the bank to meet with a Financial Advisor to help us set up different investments and after that meeting I decided that is what I wanted to do as a career.

I got into this business right out of college starting my career with First Investors Corp. I obtained my Series 6, 63 and life insurance licenses in March 2000 and became a Registered Rep. With First Investors I learned how to prospect for my own clients through cold calling, direct mailing, generating leads by attending community events like the county fairs. In 2001 I moved to California and began my career in banking with Monterey Bay Bank. In 2003 I moved back to New York and began my 15 year career as a Licensed Banker and started working with my business partner, Lori Placentino. My role as a Licensed Banker really shaped my approach to helping clients because I was able to help them with all aspects of their finances, including banking, lending and investments.

I believe that our approach is different from our competitors because we use a team approach for working with our clients. Since both of us have banking experience, I feel that we have a more holistic approach since we pay attention to all of our clients accounts, not just their investments. This team approach benefits our clients because one of us is always available. I tend to be the main point of contact for service needs which allows Lori to spend more time on financial planning meetings with clients. If our clients refer their relatives or friends they would describe me as honest, trustworthy and respectful. My favorite part of this business is that it is an ongoing process that is different for every client.

While I am not currently a member of any professional organizations I have been an active member of my local bowling league for many years. My other hobbies include rooting for the NY Yankees and NY Giants, spending time with my family and friends and regular exercise.

I have been married to my wife Lacey for 21 years. She is a Registered Nurse finishing her masters to be a Nurse Practitioner. We have a daughter Sophia who is going to Dutchess Community College and a son Samuel who is in 10th grade. We live locally in the Spackenkill area of Poughkeepsie.

My professional licenses include FINRA Series 7, 6, 63 and 66, as well as NY Life and Health Insurance.

I am a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics.

7Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
