About Thomas Greenwald

A native of Akron, Ohio, Tom has been providing financial services and advice for 38 years, entirely with  Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms.  He focuses on corporate retirement solutions, investment management, estate planning strategies, as well as business and executive services.

As a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, Tom is committed to upholding a fiduciary and ethical standard of excellence that prioritizes his clients’ best interests. He has also earned a Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation (CIMA) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania; and a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist® designation.  

Tom has undergone advanced training focused on the corporate retirement marketplace, including an in-depth study of plan design, installation, maintenance and administration. He earned the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning Specialist (CRPS) from the College for Financial Planning. Tom earned a dual degree in marketing and Communications from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York has undergone advanced training focused on the corporate retirement marketplace, including an in-depth study of plan design, installation, maintenance and administration. About Mary Perna Greenwald

With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Mary focuses her practice on retirement planning, risk management, and establishing and servicing business retirement plans. She also has a strong background in banking and lending solutions. Mary enjoys helping people—especially women in transition—take control of their finances.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mary worked as an Assistant Branch Manager and Business Development Officer at a large local bank. She is also a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, and believes that planning is the cornerstone of a secure financial future. Mary earned dual degrees in finance and management and an MBA, all from Canisius College.  

Mary and her husband, Tom, have four children. Mary loves to volunteer and has a passion for education.  She has served on the Alumni Board of Directors at Canisius College and is a past President of the Williamsville PTSA Council.  She has also devoted time and served as Chairman of the Canisius College Board of Regents. Mary is a member of the Amherst Chamber of Commerce and is a founding  member of both the Women of Canisius and the Women’s Leadership Council.  She is also involved in the local organization of Women Interested in Cystic Health and The Junior League of Buffalo.

About Joseph F. Greenwald

The newest member of The Perna Greenwald Group, Joe focuses on portfolio management, 401(k) services and multigenerational wealth planning. He is fascinated by the idea of putting capital to work, and believes in taking a holistic approach to wealth management that encompasses every piece of a client’s financial life. Joe is passionate about studying the financial markets and understanding global trends. He also invests significant time in educating clients, so they can feel more informed and more confident about their financial decision-making.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2015, Joe spent two years in the Tax Advisory practice at a local accounting and consulting firm, where he earned the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 2014 (currently non-practicing). This experience enables Joe to provide valuable insight when it comes to building tax sensitive portfolios, financial planning and helping business owners and high net worth individuals meet their investment objectives. Joe earned his MBA and dual undergraduate degrees in accounting and finance from Canisius College.

Joe devotes time to the the Cantalician Center for Learning and is also involved with the Masters Business Alumni Association at Canisius College. Outside of work, he loves the outdoors, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
