Extensive Experience
For over 35 years, Bob Patten has created successful investment portfolios. He is highly trained in his discipline and holds the title of Portfolio Management Director. In an industry that is highly commoditized, the Patten-Wright Group believes in an independent and prudent approach to portfolio management. It can construct portfolios utilizing select asset managers as well as building one through individual security selection.
Tom Wright utilizes his broad experience in risk management to focus on wealth planning. The team employs a systematic wealth management process to develop actionable plans tailored to individual situations. It is dedicated to thoroughly understanding each client’s financial position, long and short-term goals, and appetite for risk. The team uses this information along with the firm’s modern wealth management analytics and risk management tools to formulate customized strategies.
The Patten-Wright Group’s broad experience combined with Morgan Stanley’s vast resources enable it to assist with almost every facet of financial services including investment management, retirement planning, lending, insurance, and education planning. Working with an extensive network of specialists in structured solutions, estate planning, and lending services, complements and deepens the advice the team offers. Tom and Bob strive to assist clients with every decision that has financial implications to ensure they are making the best possible and strategic choices.

About Robert Patten
He joined Morgan Stanley in 1995 through the merger with Dean Witter, and will be celebrating his 29th year work anniversary this fall. Bob graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University in 1985 and was also the captain of the men’s basketball team.
Bob and his wife Jill reside in Waterford, CT where they raised their three daughters. He is a former Treasurer and Board Chair of the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, a President’s Council Member of the Mystic Aquarium, a Finance Board member of L&M Hospital, and a Finance Committee member of St. James Church in New London.
During his free time, Bob enjoys playing golf, cheering on the Boston sports teams, and engaging in political discussions with his friends. Bob holds the FINRA Series 6, 7, 9, 10, 31, 63 and 65 licenses, as well as the Life and Health Insurance Licenses.

About Thomas Wright
With over 20 years of wealth management experience, Tom brings a high level of proficiency to his position. Tom has never stopped working on what he believes to be his most important skill — listening. As a result, he spends time learning about each client’s passions, fears, and guiding principles to help ensure they are reflected in the financial planning process. By looking at all the pieces together, he is able to uncover opportunities to help make the lives of each client easier and their legacies stronger. His consistent process starts with a plan serving as the blueprint for future investing, saving, and family legacy planning.
Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut in 1998. He holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Consultant (CRPC™) designation as well as FINRA Series 3 ,4, 7, 9, 10, 66, and Life & Health Insurance licenses.
In his free time, Tom serves his community by volunteering on various boards and coaching youth sports. He also enjoys playing golf, fishing, and spending time with his wife and two children. Tom and his family are avid UConn Huskies fans.

About Elizabeth Brousseau
She was with Merrill Lynch in New London for over 20 years and then with Smith Barney in Essex prior to joining Morgan Stanley in Mystic in 2007.
A native of the area, she was raised in Niantic CT and currently lives in Westerly RI, enjoys watching sports, reading and attending the theatre; along with spending time with her family and friends.
