Our group’s origins date back as far as the late 90’s when each of the three advisors began their careers independently until joining forces in 2005 at UBS. Throughout three distinctly successful careers, the Optima group has guided ultra-high-net-worth families, executives and global citizens through the complexities of wealth planning and asset allocation. We work with our clients to achieve their financial goals through high quality service and constantly staying abreast of solutions to their evolving needs.

About Abraham Chehebar

Abraham started his private banking career at Salomon Smith Barney in 1998

After a very successful career at Salomon Smith Barney, in 2004 Abraham moved to UBS where he spent 12 years with his team, managing a large asset size for ultra-high net worth international clients.

In 2016 Abraham, along with his team of Javier Jaramillo and Juan Carom moved to Morgan Stanley, where, as of today they manage International Ultra High Net worth clients.

Abraham has a masters in Business Administration from Emory University, as well as the Series 7, series 66 and Series 3 designation.

About Javier Jaramillo

Javier started his private banking career at ABN AMRO Bank, in 1997, as the head of the Colombian office. He then led the international team at Prudential Securities in 2001 and eventually went on to spend 11 years at UBS, where he and his team managed assets for ultra-high net worth families in Latin America, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and founders.

In 2016 Javier, and the team, including Abraham Chehebar and Juan Carom moved to Morgan Stanley, where the Optima Group was formed. They are responsible for managing international Ultra High Net worth clients and guiding them through several phases of their financial journeys.

Javier has a master’s in finance from the London School of Economics, as well as the Series 7, series 66, and Series 3.

Javier and his wife have lived in Miami, Florida since 2005 with their three sons.

About Juan Carom

Juan started his private banking career at Citibank Colombia in 1998. After a successful career, he moved to Prudential Securities in 2001 as part of the international team covering Colombia and Ecuador

About Ana Catalina Smalley

Ana Catalina Smalley is the Group Director for the Optima Group. In her role, she helps shape the vision of client service and business management by working closely with the advisors to lead the team’s operational and client servicing initiatives.

Ana Catalina has been in the Private Wealth industry since 2005, most recently as the administrative manager in the international wealth management office of UBS Miami.

Ana holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami, along with the Series 7, 66, 3, 9 and 10 licenses and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®)

Ana’s hobbies include holistic and healthy cooking. She lives in Miami with her husband, two daughters, and their dog.

About Dilsa Montoya

Dilsa Montoya is the Senior Registered Client Service Associate for the Optima Group, where she has utilized the full capabilities of the firm to deliver an elevated client experience. Though she manages all aspects of client service, Dilsa focuses on helping to provide access to lending solutions for our clients by partnering with the lending specialists in the firm.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2016, Dilsa spent 4 years at UBS where her focus was also on servicing international private clients.

Dilsa holds the Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

She lives in Miami, and enjoys traveling, fitness classes and spending time with her daughter.
