Meet The Omega Group
About Me
Before entering the financial industry, Paul spent 15 years in sales, marketing, and finance with prominent companies such as General Electric, Rockwell International, and Rawlings Sporting Goods. This diverse background provided him with a strong foundation in business operations and client relations, skills that have been instrumental in his success as a financial advisor.
Paul began his career in the financial services industry at Merrill Lynch in 1985. He then joined Shearson Lehman/Citi Smith Barney in 1991, where he continued to develop his expertise in investment management. In 2009, Paul transitioned to UBS Financial Services, further expanding his capabilities and client base. In September 2025, he joined Morgan Stanley, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and a client-centric approach.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for business majors. He also completed the Investment Management Analyst Certification (CIMA) at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) since 1990 and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) since 2005, Paul is well-equipped to provide clients with expert financial planning and investment management services. He is a past member of the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis, the Association of Professional Investment Consultants, and the Financial Planning Association.
Paul is deeply committed to his community, having served as a past board member and chairman of the Investment Committees for organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of St. Louis, Mentor St. Louis, and FOCUS St. Louis. His volunteer work includes contributions to the St. Louis Volunteer Tax Assistance Program, Rebuilding St. Louis Together, Habitat for Humanity, and Forest Park Forever. Currently, Paul continues his community involvement with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater St. Louis and serves on the Cabinet of Life Trustees.

About Maria Briggs
Maria's journey into the financial services field is enriched by her diverse life experiences and a robust career in banking and lending. Her transition to the brokerage and advisory side was a natural progression, allowing her to offer a comprehensive suite of services to clients. Her years of experience have equipped her with the ability to be a better guide, providing insights and solutions that are both creative and effective.
Maria's unique approach is centered around asking the right questions rather than just having the answers. She believes that each day presents opportunities to make a significant impact on clients' lives through informed investments and decisions. Her holistic approach addresses all aspects of financial well-being, including asset and liability management, tax, retirement and estate planning, and insurance needs.
Her commitment to a time-tested asset protection strategy, grounded in academic theory and modern portfolio analysis, sets her apart from her competitors. The Omega Group's clients appreciate her disciplined process, which not only drives returns but also minimizes risk and generates peace of mind. Known for her creative solutions and timely execution, Maria is often described as an investment consultant who asks the right questions to guide clients in making informed decisions.
Maria's service model is built on a pioneering team structure dedicated to providing comprehensive wealth management. Her favorite part of the business is helping clients and their families reach their goals and create a legacy for future generations. She finds fulfillment in her work and is honored by the trust clients place in her.
Outside of her professional life, Maria is deeply engaged in the St. Louis community. She serves on the Advisory Council of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and is a board member of St. Louis Public Radio. Her commitment extends to the Finance Committee for FOCUS St. Louis, the Women’s Committee for Forest Park Forever, and the International Women’s Forum. Maria was also part of the Leadership St. Louis Class of 2008-2009 and has mentored at the Olin Business School at Washington University.
Maria's professional journey began in 1985, with a career in financial services that spans 40 years. Her early experiences at Boatmen’s Bank and Citigroup Mortgage laid the foundation for her transition to Shearson Lehman Brothers, where she launched her career in brokerage and investment. She holds the CFP designation since 2005 and the CIMA designation from Wharton since 2007, and is a member of the Investments and Wealth Institute and the Financial Planning Association.
In addition to her professional achievements, Maria is classically trained as a pianist and has studied Romance languages, including French, Spanish, and Italian. She is also an avid cyclist and runner, having competed in 50 races by the age of 50. Her personal life is enriched by her family, including two children and three grandchildren, and her love for travel, having visited every continent, including Antarctica.
Maria's commitment to clients, community, and family reflects her belief in maintaining an active mind and body, and she continues to inspire those around her with her dedication and passion.
About Gena O'Laughlin
After her tenure at EF Hutton, Gena transitioned to an Investment Advisor firm, where she demonstrated her exceptional ability to work with substantial portfolios. She was responsible for overseeing 1,600 accounts with a combined value of $65 million, showcasing her adeptness in delivering outstanding client service.
In 2001, Gena joined Smith Barney, where she further honed her skills and expertise. Her career trajectory took a significant step forward in 2004 when she became a part of The Omega Group. This team-oriented approach allowed her to collaborate with like-minded professionals, enhancing the level of service.
In 2009, Gena and The Omega Group made a strategic move to UBS Financial Services, where they continued to excel for 16 years. During her time at UBS, Gena played a pivotal role in maintaining and growing client relationships, ensuring that clients received personalized and comprehensive financial advice tailored to their unique needs and goals.
In September 2025, Gena and The Omega Group joined Morgan Stanley, bringing their wealth of experience and client-focused approach to the firm. Gena holds several key licenses, including the Series 7, 6, and 63.
Gena is dedicated to assisting clients with all aspects of client service, ensuring that they receive the highest level of attention and care. Her commitment to excellence and her deep understanding of the financial markets make her an invaluable asset to her clients and colleagues alike.
