About James O'Connor

An experienced financial advisor, Jim has stuck with his career in wealth management because of his passion for helping people. He was licensed in 1985 and has worked in financial services ever since. Working closely with his son since 2011, Jim understands the value of guidance and the importance of balance in both personal and professional spaces. He implements this knowledge throughout his client interactions. Jim is glad to spend time with his wife and son both on and off the clock.

Prior to joining the financial services field, Jim studied at Drake University and competed in the NFL. Outside of servicing his clients, Jim spends time with his family which has grown to include grandchildren. He and Gail have two labs and one lab-mix they recently rescued.

About Patrick O'Connor

Patrick joined his father in practice in 2011 and has been servicing clients with care ever since. Prior to joining The O’Connor Group, Patrick received his Bachelor’s in Biopsychology from Morningside University and worked in the retail industry. His experiences outside the financial services industry allow Patrick to understand the importance of preserving and growing the assets his clients worked their entire lives to attain.

He helps clients create a plan for retirement through proactive and innovative investment strategies. When it comes to ongoing service, he strives to ensure prompt responses to any inquiry they may have. He practices transparency by utilizing firm tools to simplify and demonstrate his investment decision making process to clients.

Patrick finds genuine fulfillment in problem solving and building client confidence. In his free time, he spends time with his young son and daughter. He also enjoys golf and sports in general, but especially when playing competitively or with his son.

About Gail O'Connor

Long-time CSA to this family practice, Gail has been in the financial service industry for nearly 30 years. She is committed to servicing clients with the highest level of support through administrative and operational functions.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Gail earned her Bachelor of Arts from Iowa State University. Her three daughters attended the University of Iowa, pursuing fields in business and healthcare. She and Jim married in 2010 and are now the proud owners of three beloved dogs: Lily, Trice, and Chance. They love traveling and spending time with the dogs and family, especially by the lake.

Eric Townsend is a Private Banker serving Morgan Stanley Wealth Management offices in Iowa, Nebraska, and Missouri.

Private Bankers partner with Financial Advisors to develop a specialized approach for managing clients’ cash flow, liquidity and financing needs, leveraging our comprehensive suite of cash management and lending solutions.

Eric began his career in financial services in 1992, and joined Morgan Stanley in 2017. His professional experience includes more than 25 years as both a Financial Advisor and Private Banker.

Eric is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance. He and his family live in Urbandale, Iowa. When not in the office, Eric donates his time to Habitat for Humanity, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and ChildServe, an organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children through clinical, home, and community-based programs and services.

Sarah Ott, CFP® is a Vice President and Financial Planning Director serving Morgan Stanley’s Wealth
Management offices in the St. Louis area. She is responsible for helping Financial Advisors with their clients'

Sarah began her career in Financial Services in 2014 and joined Morgan Stanley in 2022. Prior to
her current position, she was a Financial Advisor and Director of Financial Planning Operations at
Thrivent Financial.

Sarah graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
and holds her Certified Financial Planner® designation. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys traveling with
her family, trying new restaurants, volunteering at her church, and attending concerts and sporting
events.
