OUR APPROACH TO DISCRETIONARY PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
We are hands-on investment professionals who manage discretionary portfolios for many of our clients within our team, relying on our four portfolio managers and a range of strategies designed to meet different priorities you might have. This responsibility as portfolio manager demands each and every day that our advisors are abreast of, and seeking to understand, the economy near home and far away. We believe that success in capital market investing requires three essential traits: time, temperament and talent. We discern and draw our own conclusions and establish our own opinions in making investment decisions. With a fully open architecture platform, we have the latitude to choose investments for our clients based solely on our assessment of what is right for them.

I started working over four decades ago and am nearing 40 years on Wall Street. In addition to being a financial advisor, I would describe myself as a professional saver, thoughtful investor and prudent practitioner.

In my opinion, today’s financial landscape is more complicated and convoluted than ever before. Geopolitical conditions evolve rapidly, information transitions instantly and decisions are often demanded swiftly. Our team is organized to function like a virtual family office, designed to help our clients through the labyrinth prudently. When I face my own retirement, this is what I’ll expect from my advisors, and why we’ve become the team we are today. I want to be surrounded by energetic, motivated, capable and young professionals.

I learn from them, listen to them, and challenge their views and opinions. I do my best to make them think and think again about what can go right but also about what can go wrong. And we expect our clients to do the same.
