Meet The Norby Group

About Kristin Norby

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from Menlo Atherton High School, I headed south to Los Angeles - attending college at UCLA - where I also worked part time for the UCLA Alumni Association, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity. Shortly after graduating, I began working as a financial advisor at Smith Barney (which was purchased by Morgan Stanley in 2009). It is rare in the financial services industry to have worked for one firm for the entirety of a career spanning more than three decades.

My loyalty to one firm has provided my clients with a consistent, stable and professional environment which is the basis from which a strong financial advisory relationship is built. I am so fortunate to be working with many families for four generations now! As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Portfolio Management Director, I focus on helping clients accumulate wealth and seek to generate lifetime income they won't outlive. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, I counsel, coach, and assist clients in achieving their evolving financial needs and goals. I pride myself on providing ethical, dependable, and thoughtful advice.

As a veteran in the financial services business with more than 35 years of experience, my depth of knowledge, perspective, creative ideas, and reservoir of resources allow me to assist clients in negotiating today's markets with a keen awareness of historical market trends and movements. I am also Series 3, 7, 63, 66, life insurance, long term care insurance and annuities licensed. In recognition of my level of service and commitment to clients, I have been honored to be included Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor award and the Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisor Best-In-State award for 2022, 2023, and 2024.

I enjoy spending time with my two grown children, Gunnar (son) and Greer (daughter), and with my close friends and yellow Labrador Retriever. I also thoroughly enjoy cooking, traveling and playing tennis, golf and pickleball in my spare time.

16Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
