Risk Management
Life’s unpredictable. That’s the basic premise we operate under when managing your wealth. Complementing our own experience with Morgan Stanley’s intelligent risk management technology — we design resilient risk management strategies to help protect your wealth from market volatility, economic dips, and unexpected life events.
If you’re looking for advice about your compensation package, I can help you explore various strategies, such as the impact of your concentrated equity position on near-term financial decisions, how and when to make an 84(b) election to value your stock at the grant date, and when to take advantage of 10b5-1 safe harbor plans in order to liquidate or trade company shares. Most importantly, we’ll make sure your decisions fit within the context of personal goals and long term financial plans.

My clients rely on my knowledge and experience in this area. Getting it right can make a difference and have a lasting impact on your financial well-being.
Tax Strategy
Focusing on taxes isn't just important; it's essential. In coordination with your CPAs, we develop proactive strategies that help minimize tax liabilities and maximize after-tax returns. From capital gains to estate taxes, we leave no stone unturned in our mission to help every dollar work harder for you.

Whether you're pursuing strategic acquisitions, funding a passion project, or simply seeking liquidity for personal reasons, we tap Morgan Stanley’s vast network to help you access financing and liquidity solutions on favorable terms. It’s all part of our goal to help you unlock the full potential of your assets and maximize opportunities.
Portfolio Management
We manage the majority of our portfolios internally; there’s a reason. It not only allows us to maintain a deep understanding of what your money is doing and why, it also helps us fine-tune portfolios to match your unique needs. Our approach? Strategic, methodical, and grounded in sophisticated data analytics to help you manage risk.

When it comes to ultra-high net worth, diversifying portfolios beyond traditional asset classes can be essential. Morgan Stanley’s powerful alternative investment platform offers you access to exclusive opportunities in private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and other unique market opportunities that traditional investments may overlook.

Multigenerational Wealth

Building A Legacy
Securing wealth across generations is no easy feat. In fact, according to a recent 20-year study, 70% of affluent families lose their wealth by the second generation. To us, that signifies a major challenge: how to provide financial literacy and values that can be passed down to the next generation? One of the most fundamental ways we address that is simply by providing rare continuity and elite qualifications. We have the youthful longevity to see your entire journey through. And when you hire us, your family gains access to the experience and insight of a Family Wealth Director — a leading designation from Morgan Stanley awarded to less than 6% of advisors nation-wide
Resilience in Difficult Moments
Life isn't always smooth sailing, but you don't have to weather the storms alone. As your trusted advisor, we're here to support you and your family through life's toughest challenges. A health emergency. A divorce. A family loss. In moments when the last thing you want to think about is money, we provide the guidance and empathy you need to move forward with strength.
Education For Every Generation
Knowledge is the cornerstone of financial empowerment, and we're dedicated to seeing to it that every member of your family has the tools they need to succeed. That's why we established "NMA University," a dedicated financial education program designed for our clients and their families alike. We recognize that for many people, it’s hard to talk about money. That’s why our program aims to bridge this gap by providing valuable insights and guidance on various financial topics, from understanding investment strategies to strategizing life after college graduation.

The Dillemma

As an executive or entrepreneur, you’ve worked tirelessly not just to achieve success, but to sustain it. Along the way, many have accumulated substantial wealth — much of it tied up in concentrated stock positions, performance-based RSUs, and other intricate forms of equity compensation. These investment vehicles often require a significant amount of time and energy to sort through. Unfortunately, many simply don’t have time to spare given the day-to-day demands of your career. And if you do find precious free time, you want to prioritize family. And so that equity just sits there. Even though in the back of your mind, you know there are likely opportunities to make it do more for your future.
HOW WE HELP. AT EVERY STAGE.
At the NMA Group at Morgan Stanley, we help empower executives and entrepreneurs with the seasoned guidance and tax-aware strategies they need to intelligently manage their concentrated stock positions at every stage.
Pre-Sale Planning: Understanding Your Equity Awards
We begin by walking you through the ins and outs of your equity compensation package, whether it's stock options, RSUs, performance shares, or ESPPs. Together, we'll delve into the challenges, risks, and opportunities associated with each type of award. At this stage, the goal is to develop a personalized investment strategy aligned with your financial objectives and tax situation.
Sale Execution: Planning for Taxes
As equity events approach, we shift our focus to tax planning and optimization. Working side-by-side with dedicated tax and legal professionals, our team analyzes the tax implications and regulatory requirements of each transaction. Our experience allows us to help our clients devise sophisticated strategies that incorporate advanced methods such as exchange funds, Charitable Remainder Trusts, and other innovative techniques. Ultimately, our goal is not just to help maximize after-tax proceeds, but also to help implement strategic long-term solutions.
Post-Sale Integration: Risk Management and Financial Planning
Following the sale of your equity awards, our attention turns to managing risk and integrating your assets into your broader financial plan. We assess the concentration risk inherent in your company stock holdings, retool your approach when appropriate, and devise risk management strategies that help safeguard your financial future.
