Our Process

Our wealth management process begins with you, your investment objectives and your financial goals. Holistic in its approach, it may encompass all the elements of your financial life - your investments and your cash management needs - making sure they align with your goals and wealth management plan.
    Icon Image
    1. Identify
Before we make specific recommendations, we take the time to understand who you are as a person, as well as an investor, and what you really hope to achieve for yourself and your family. That means an in-depth discussion of your current finances, future objectives, attitude toward risk and other circumstances that will assist us in developing a customized plan.
    Icon Image
    2. Discover
Next, we’ll review your current and future financial situation, determine the likelihood of reaching your goals and address any potential shortfalls or the impact of unexpected life events. We analyze your input and seek to develop a wealth management plan that contains specific recommendations designed to meet the objectives you established.
    Icon Image
    3. Analyze & Implement
With a clear understanding of your needs and goals, we utilize a variety of planning and risk analysis tools to identify appropriate strategies for your situation. We also leverage the intellectual capital of Morgan Stanley’s global resources. We present these recommendations to you and upon your approval will begin implementation.
    Icon Image
    4. Plan & Monitor
We’ll oversee your performance towards your goals through ongoing calls and meetings. We may recommend adjustments over time, due to changing market conditions or changes in your circumstances, to help keep you on track towards achieving your goals.

Our Clients

The Nexus Group works with a broad range of clientele. However, many of our clients find themselves and their families across more than one of the below categories. By leveraging the power of our team and a global firm to deliver these resources, we give our clients as much time as possible to focus on their lives where it matters most.
    Icon Image
    Physicians
Many physicians manage their own practice, supervise employees, and oversee payroll. This creates a need to address a variety of issues from employee benefits to retirement plans. Our focus is to help guide you and make the right financial decisions.
    Icon Image
    Business Owners
During your years of building and managing your business, you may not have focused on the significant personal wealth you were creating or the financial opportunities and risks that you might encounter after moving on to enjoy your success. We can guide you through a process designed to integrate your institutional and corporate objectives with your personal goals.
    Icon Image
    Professionals
As a professional, such as an Engineer or Pharmacist, you have devoted your career to building your enterprise. Now it is time to plan for what comes next: enjoying the substantial rewards, spending more time with your family and pursuing new challenges.
    Icon Image
    Multi-Generational Families
General wealth is passed down within a family, from one generation to the next. With successful and proper planning, the next generation of children can then pass down wealth to their own children, and so on.

Legacy Planning
You can’t take it with you, but through a trust, you can define how you want your life’s work and wealth to continue to benefit the people and causes you love and care for.
The Legacies That Last
Portfolio Management
After discussing your portfolio asset allocation strategy, we will recommend specific investments in each asset class and show you how those investments will work in your portfolio to help you reach your stated goals. We will work together to model potential changes after understanding how your portfolio might perform based on potential and current events.
Portfolio Insight
Tax Management
Even investors who spend a lot of time thinking about how to maximize their portfolios for performance may lack a strategy when it comes to taxes on those returns. Applying an active tax-management strategy for your investments may be one way to help reduce your overall tax burden.
Consider These Tax Moves
Estate Planning
Delivering an estate to the next generation or favorite charity requires more attention than families often realize. We coordinate with your estate and tax professionals to align your legacy goals with the appropriate asset titling and beneficiary designation requirements, incorporating best practices to help enhance results.
Why You May Need A Trust
Lending
As investors seek to diversify their portfolio exposures beyond traditional assets, alternative lending may offer attractive absolute and risk-adjusted return characteristics. An allocation to alternative lending may provide investors with exposure to a secular shift in the way consumers and small businesses access capital.

Technical analysis is the study of past price and volume trends of a security in an attempt to predict the security's future price and volume trends. Its limitations include but are not limited to: the lack of fundamental analysis of a security's financial condition, lack of analysis of macro economic trend forecasts, the bias of the technician's view and the possibility that past participants were not entirely rational in their past purchases or sales of the security being analyzed. Investors using technical analysis should consider these limitations prior to making an investment decision.

7Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
