A Personalized Approach to Family Wealth Management

As your wealth grows, so too does its complexities and the resources required to manage it effectively. At The Monk Group at Morgan Stanley, we are an experienced team of credentialed professionals dedicated to providing tailored advice and resources helpful in simplifying your financial life. We seek to accomplish this through a highly personalized approach that focuses primarily on listening, so that we may gain a thorough understanding of the priorities and goals that are most important to you and your family.

As a successful corporate executive or business leader, your finances become more complicated as you take on more and more responsibility. We understand the challenges you face and the level of sophistication you expect. Over the years, we have developed the knowledge and proficiencies needed to help optimize your wealth, while integrating outside assets into a comprehensive wealth management plan. Most importantly, we are committed to building longstanding relationships, and are proud of the fact that many of our clients have been with us for many years and have allowed us the opportunity to help them grow and preserve their assets over multiple generations.

Money, in and of itself, does not always create the necessary capabilities to manage it skillfully. Our vision is to be recognized as a premier advisory practice dedicated to helping financially successful individuals and their families manage the intricate issues involved in comprehensive wealth management. We believe the more complex your financial situation, the more valuable we are to you and the more rewarding your overall experience will be.

At The Monk Group, we know how hard you are working to achieve your goals, and will work even harder to help ensure your wealth leads to continued prosperity for you, your family and the causes you care about most.

Multigenerational Wealth

Building wealth at this level is one thing. Preserving it across generations is another. At The Monk Wealth Management Group, multigenerational planning is baked into our team DNA. We bring decades of experience, world-class family office resources, and the elite Family Wealth Director designation to guide your family through the unique pressures and opportunities that come with extraordinary wealth.

Alignment Across Generations
Every family has its rhythms, its priorities, and its voices. We spend time with parents to understand their vision and values. Then we meet with adult children to ensure they're aligned and empowered. Often, we even work directly with grandchildren, laying the groundwork for stewardship early. By engaging everyone, we help families make decisions that stick — not just financially, but culturally and personally.

Protecting Wealth, Preserving Purpose
Wealth at this level comes with real complexity — concentrated holdings, trusts, and estates, plus the inevitable life transitions. Our role is to keep your legacy in focus, structuring everything from investments and tax strategy to charitable initiatives, banking, and insurance. The goal is not just preservation, but ensuring your wealth actively supports what matters most over the long term.

Preparing The Leaders of Tomorrow
Legacy isn't inherited automatically. It's earned. We mentor the next generation as they step into leadership roles, helping them develop the prudent judgment and financial literacy needed to manage family wealth for the long-term. At the same time, we aim to provide guidance without replacing responsibility. The outcome? A generation capable of sustaining and growing the legacy you've built for decades to come.

    Our Clients

Our clients are leaders in every sense — running companies, sitting on boards, and building legacies that span generations. Their days are filled with high-stakes decisions, constant oversight, and competing priorities. For them, wealth is rarely just about accumulation; it's about influence, responsibility, and purpose. Our team helps ensure that every financial decision is considered and executed with the same discipline and perspective they apply to everything else in their lives.

    C-Suite Executives and Board Members
Executives and board members juggle complex compensation, regulatory oversight, and corporate obligations — all while trying to focus on the people and initiatives that matter most. Our role is to handle the financial intricacies behind the scenes, so they can lead with clarity, make bold business decisions, and still carve out time for family and personal priorities.

    Business Owners and Entrepreneurs
Owners are constantly balancing the demands of running a business with protecting and growing their personal wealth. They don't want to be bogged down by financial minutiae when they could be building their company or spending time with loved ones. We create integrated strategies that manage personal finances, succession planning, and liquidity events — giving owners the freedom to focus their attention on their business.

    Ultra-High Net Worth Families
Wealth that spans generations brings both opportunity and responsibility. Families must align priorities, navigate estates and trusts, and educate the next generation. We work with parents, adult children, and often grandchildren to coordinate strategy, cultivate financial literacy, and help ensure the next generation is prepared to thrive.

      Case Studies

Case Study: A Legacy of Impact
For clients who have secured their own financial security, the questions shift from "Will I have enough?" to "What will my wealth mean?" One family came to us seeking a way to turn extraordinary assets into enduring impact. With concentrated stock and complex estate considerations, they wanted to make a philanthropic contribution that was strategically structured for long-term impact. Working in coordination with Morgan Stanley specialists and the client's network of attorneys and accountants, we created a trust strategy that allowed the funds to grow outside the estate — and without creating a tax burden for the client. This approach allowed the client to support causes they care about, maintain control over their financial legacy, and help ensure that wealth is positioned to endure across generations.

      Case Study: Year-End Tax Coordination
For clients with highly complex financial lives, year-end tax planning is a strategic exercise that can influence every decision for the year ahead. In these situations, our team has worked closely with the clients' CPAs to coordinate moves across investments, trusts, and charitable planning. Timing is critical: by executing this carefully choreographed strategy before year-end, we help clients move forward with a level of coordination that helps turn complexity into opportunity, for the year ahead and for the decades that follow.

      Case Study: Family Wealth
A family came to us facing a common challenge for those at the helm of significant wealth: how to prepare the next generation to carry on the family legacy responsibly, without diminishing their ambition or independence. Our team worked with the family to create a thoughtful, multigenerational approach. We guided a series of structured family conversations around values, philanthropy, and financial responsibility. We also brought in Morgan Stanley's multigenerational education resources to help the next generation build knowledge and perspective. The outcome was simple: empowerment. The next generation began to see wealth not as entitlement, but as a tool for stewardship. And the head of the family gained the satisfaction of knowing their legacy would be carried forward thoughtfully, intentionally, and with ambition intact.

        Our Philosophy

We are committed to the following core beliefs that serve as the foundation of our practice:
We believe you are entitled to the best advice possible.
To gain the precise knowledge needed to manage all aspects of your wealth, we work closely with your accountant and estate planning attorney. Where appropriate, we consult with our network of specialists within Morgan Stanley and across the industry to evaluate your unique challenges and devise specific recommendations.
We believe in total wealth management.
Retirement assets, equity compensation and insurance policies should not be managed as separate entities, but rather as vital components of your overall financial picture. As an experienced advisory team at Morgan Stanley, we are uniquely positioned to take a holistic approach to executive wealth management. All of your assets, including the benefits you receive from your employer, will be integrated to ensure they are working together to help meet your overall goals.
        We believe in education.
Financial education for you and your family is fundamental to our practice and helps ensure continuity as wealth moves from one generation to the next. We believe it is our responsibility to assist your parents and your children as they face important financial challenges. We provide access to resources they may not otherwise have access to, and are here to answer critical questions that may impact the long-term wealth of your extended family.
        We believe in long-term relationships.
Successful wealth management begins with personalized service and attention. We invite potential clients to meet with us to share their needs and expectations. We look forward to working with professionals who seek the kind of long-term, fully engaged relationships we value. The bond we form is fundamental to our mission and it is our hope that it spans generations.

Hannah Fierro is a Client Service Associate with The Monk Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley. Working closely with the advisory team, Hannah helps maintain the operational flow that allows high-net-worth clients to receive a seamless and well-organized wealth management experience.

A graduate of Purdue University, Hannah earned her B.A. in Public Relations & Strategic Communication, along with a minor in Spanish. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2024, she built experience in fast-paced communications and client-facing roles, including positions in public relations and project coordination at agencies such as JPR Group and MikeWorldWide. That background sharpened her ability to manage competing priorities, communicate clearly across stakeholders, and support complex workflows with precision and structure.

Because of her work, meetings happen when they should, documents are in place when they’re needed, and time-sensitive requests like funding accounts or updating paperwork don’t become points of stress or delay. In many cases, these are the small but important steps that sit behind larger decisions clients are making for their families, businesses, or long-term plans; and Hannah’s focus is on making sure nothing in that chain breaks down.

Outside the office, Hannah enjoys spending time with family and friends and her miniature dachshund, Maisie. An avid runner, she completed the 2025 Chicago Marathon and is set to run it again in 2026, along with several half marathons. She also enjoys traveling and exploring Chicago’s food scene.
