Our Mission

The Miller Group at Morgan Stanley has grown over the years by developing trusting client relationships across generations. Today we operate as a full-service team with each member providing a specific skillset while also sharing a holistic approach to wealth management integrating investments, financial, and estate planning. We have been recognized as a Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Management team for 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The Miller Group strives to meet every client where they are in life. Our goal is to help every individual and their family build and manage a comprehensive wealth management plan. This involves ensuring the proper strategies are put in place to grow, protect, and transfer wealth while minimizing the impact of taxes.

Craig Miller applies his nearly four decades of experience, specialized training as a Certified Investment Management Analyst and an affinity for estate planning to develop the most comprehensive solutions for clients. He is also an Alternative Investments Director, providing education on private markets and other less correlated asset classes, as well as their integration into portfolios.

Sutton Miller directs new client onboarding, ensuring families can take advantage of all the industry-leading financial resources and technologies Morgan Stanley has to offer. Sutton holds a Fundamentals of Alternative Investments® certificate from the CAIA Association, is an Alternative Investments Director, and a Financial Planning Specialist.

Clients also benefit from the support of Client Service Associate, Jill Hughes, who uses the knowledge gleaned over several years at Morgan Stanley to efficiently manage client queries and requests, and the enthusiasm of admin Mason Kumiega.

OUR FIVE-STEP PROCESS

Many of our clients achieved their wealth through careers at large companies or as successful professionals and business owners. Many have introduced us to their own circle of friends and family, which we believe is the best way to develop lasting relationships.

By putting ourselves in our clients’ shoes and treating them in the same way we would like to be treated, we have attracted families that have stayed with us across multiple generations. Given the spectrum of ages and backgrounds of our team, we aim to leverage our different experiences to create value for all our clients regardless of age. Whether you’re becoming a parent for the first time or planning on retirement, we are here to support your journey.

High net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and families often come to us with complicated problems we are well-positioned to solve in a way that makes sense to our clients. By being good listeners, developing commonality, and as partnering with our clients’ tax and legal professionals, we can create integrated financial plans, identify broader challenges, and address problems experienced by other clients. Common pain points include:

• Confusion or misperceptions about private markets and alternative investments
• Confusion about best practices for estate planning
• The implications of investments on your taxes
• Managing retirement income distributions

We know there is a lot more to investing than buying stocks and saving money. Think of The Miller Group as your family’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), a resource you can turn to regarding all your decisions around finances. Just as a CFO relies on detailed forecasting and analysis to make a business profitable, we lean on the foundation of a robust financial plan to ensure our clients meet their self-defined goals.

Private Investing

By leveraging Morgan Stanley’s extensive Investment Management platform, we can provide more opportunities for our clients to achieve their goals. As a leading provider of private investment strategies, Morgan Stanley's expertise spans across private equity, private credit, hedge funds and real estate.

The alternatives market has matured significantly in recent years, offering more structure and stability in its role as a portfolio diversifier. Today, with public markets historically concentrated, we believe private investments offer a more compelling risk/return profile for high-net-worth clients. But to do their job, alternative investments must be chosen carefully. The Miller Group conducts its own due diligence in conjunction with the dedicated alternatives manager research and access provided by Morgan Stanley to deliver custom alternative investment strategies with established track records and proven reputations.

6Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan.
