About Paul Matlock

A seasoned professional for more than 36 years, Paul enjoys working with financially successful individuals, families and business owners throughout Mississippi and all across the country. His extensive financial services background enables him to help his clients understand the intricate details of their personal wealth along with assisting them in securing their financial future.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Asbury College and received his Master of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi. He began his career in 1987 as a financial advisor with McLarty and Company in Jackson. After spending time at Legg Mason and UBS Financial Services, Paul joined Morgan Stanley in 2008 along with partner Mary Linley Sweat. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Wealth Management of The Matlock/Sweat Group. Paul also holds the title of Portfolio Management Director at Morgan Stanley, a unique distinction that allows him to manage client portfolios on a discretionary basis. He was recognized as one of the top advisors in Mississippi when he was included on the 2019, 2021 and 2024 Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors List.

Paul and his wife, Laurin, live just outside of downtown Jackson. Paul has a genuine interest and passion for studying the history of the U.S. stock market, having read countless books covering the subject. In his free time, Paul likes to take part in a variety of hobbies, such as boating, scuba diving and oil painting.

About Mary Linley Sweat

Mary Linley brings over 20 years of financial services experience to the team. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, she began her career as an operations manager with UBS Financial Services in Jackson. During her time in operations, Mary Linley realized her passion for working directly with investors and chose to make the transition into client services, becoming a financial advisor at UBS in 2006. She and partner Paul Matlock have been working together ever since and joined Morgan Stanley as The Matlock/Sweat Group in 2008. One of Mary Linley’s primary responsibilities on the team is building and putting together financial plans for clients and their families.

Mary Linley and her husband, Andrew, live in the Fondren area with their two children, Andrew and Elizabeth. An active member of the community, Mary Linley volunteers for numerous local organizations including Junior League of Jackson and Fondren Renaissance Foundation.  Mary Linley enjoys spending time with family along with the occasional trip to the beach or Pickwick Lake.
